At least one web site is solely dedicated to answering this question (in the affirmative).
Some Christians take the Book of Revelation from the Christian Bible quite literally as a playbook for the end of the world. In Revelation, there are descriptions of cataclysmic events involving a diabolical mystical figure called “the beast” associated with the number 666 and a dragon.
While the word “antichrist” is not found in Revelation, the term, borrowed from John’s epistle, is used to describe the one who comes into the world blaspheming God, but gathering a huge following in the process.
While a thinly veiled allegory of the first-century Roman Empire, Revelation and it’s highly symbolic imagery has been associated with many prominent world figures over the ages.

Google is pretty easy to contaminate with a couple of blog posts. Try searching for “Dick Shelby” in combination with the word “pedophile” and you get more than 40,000 hits — and that all apparently started with a single blogger’s attempt to satirize Shelby’s birth certificate “throwaway line” — which in turn was picked up quickly by other blogs, twitter, etc.
I believe in the bible & believe in the concept of the antichrist (he’ll come eventually) but i find it interesting that so called christian are winding themselves up, if they really believe in the bible as they say, Is there anything they can do to stop the coming or execution of the antichrist agenda ?? the bible has said he(we assume it will be a he) will come so its either the bible is right on that issue or its wrong ? If he’s coming & there’s nothing they can do about it why oh why are they then worrying themselves too death ???
Its quite clear that if Obama is the antichrist (WHICH HE IS NOT !!) the bible talks about, it means these pple cant stop him coming to head the world anyway no matter what they do , they should be concentrating their energy preparing for the ‘rapture’ not fighting the antichrist whom the bible has already said will rule for many years no matter what !!!

myson – I was raised in the missionary and primative baptist faiths so I can tell you a little about the Book of Revelations and the TimeLine of the Rapture, the time of the Antichrist’s reign and the 1000 years of glory on earth. I did however run screaming from this concept and quickly became an Episcopalian. Historically the Book of Revelations was not taught as a book of prophecies, but rather about the current times in which it was written. Also, John, who is attributed to writing the book, was being held in a cave during the time the book was written without food and water and probably was hallucinating. Now, as much as I like a peyote induced vision of God as the next guy, I don’t plan my life around it. However, not only is there nothing that could be done if this were the case, Christians have been instructed NOT to worry about the time or place but rather to just be ready. They are not to be of the world, only in it, which means that these people are already going against what they have been commanded. I cannot believe how many people are spending so much time trying to separate this country into two groups rather than trying to find common ground.
There is plenty of common ground. They hate us and we hate them.

I would recommend the book “Breaking the Code” by Bruce M. Metzger for a mainstream Christian view of the book of Revelation.

Which times in the New Testament do we find Jesus angry or judgmental? It is those times when he is rebuking the Pharisees, or cleansing the temple of those who make money in His name, or confronting those who, for whatever reason, think they are better than some lowly “sinner.” As Jesus was facing death on the cross He did not tell the Roman soldiers or the Jews who called for his death that they were going to hell, rather he prayed for them by saying, “Forgive them Father, for they know not what they do.” Therefore, who are we to pass judgment in the name of the Father and the Son?

1) Nobody asked anybody to cover up an “image of Jesus”, but rather to put up a backdrop.
2) It was the university that chose to cover up the IHS letters for contextual reasons, not Obama
3) The request was not a “condition” of giving the speech
4) Nobody (including me) knows what IHS is in the first place (I had to look it up).
So Heavy presented us with an essentially false story. Of course Heavy will say this is all semantics and I say it is substance. This may give a clue why Heavy reacts so strongly to what others of us see as nothing.

What President Obama said was that we are not “just” a Christian nation – but a nation of many religions, including no religion, to paraphrase. This has always been true because we have never had a theocracy and our founding fathers never meant for us to have a theocracy.
