Dr. Orly’s New High Profile Partner

Dr. Orly Taitz has had limited success in getting the Supreme Court’s attention up until this point. The appeal to the Court today asking Judge Roberts and the other justices to recuse themselves from swearing in Barack Obama due to a conflict of interest was a “Hail Mary” play if anything. Knowledgeable legal commentators give her case, Lightfoot  v. Bowen, a very slim chance.

It has been clear for some time that Dr. Orly needed a more experienced litigator, a “big gun” so to speak, a figure with immediate national recognition, and particularly someone with a strong win record.

I have to hand it to Dr. Orly. This was brilliant, but totally unexpected. Her new associate has a string of cases (listed at the end of this article) that are almost household names in some circles. He will get the attention of the Supreme Court and definitely the attention of the mainstream media. I was too young to remember his first case from 1954, the same year as Brown v. Board of Education of Topeka; but it was as big a splash as Brown at the time, gaining international recognition for the forceful (and downright aggressive) approach to litigation.

His greatest success was in work on the international protocols related to nuclear arms limitations and several high-profile cases in the 1970’s, always appearing pro se.

While a “frequent litigant”, he was never considered a “nuisance” and indeed he came up against some of the most formidable opponents of this era and gained the respect of everyone he came up against.

I’m a great fan, and I have all his cases on file.

    Dr. C.,

You really had me wondering this afternoon when you posted about Doc Orly. This has got to be the best one you have come up with so far. Her new “legal partner” if anything should “scare” SCOTUS into granting her application. Too funny.
