Georgia Democrats: Send money

Georgia Democrats, like political parties all over, seem to always have their hand out for donations. In this case it is the occasion of the eligibility challenges in Georgia.

We are putting together the finest legal team in the state to stop these political tricks. We must defend the President against these attacks that could remove him from the Presidential ballot in November.

$20 should about do it. I get stuff like this all the time from all sides, but hey, I have to write about something.

IANAL, but it would seem that if Obama paid the fee by the appropriate time and they accepted it, it’s a deal.
Seems there’s also precedent made by him previously doing the exact same thing and being allowed.
AZ didn’t appreciate being virtually boycotted.
I can’t see how GA would either.
What I resent is that if this request for money is being touted as seriously for this intention, others will take it as it serious too.

    > We are putting together the finest legal team in the state

That so echoes the birther attempts to milk their followers for money – “we are putting together a top legal team to unseat the usurper”…

  3. J. Potter says:

    1. He implies—no, plainly states that the Republican Party is behind the eligibility challenge effort. C’mon, seriously.
    2. Finest legal team in the country? This does sound like a birther claim. What legal experts have they imported? Where is evidence of their action? If these challenges are spurious, then why is so much legal talent needed?
    3. Asking for funds in reference to this is definitely stooping to the Birther level. If Democrats win on the issues, then how about driving for funds in reference to those? I am sure they do, he references several…go focus on them.
    4. Way to draw attention, genius. If the Birthers aren’t using this for ammo yet, they should be.

Well, OK, one of the knucklehead ‘challengers’ is a Red party country chair. Still, that hardly makes it an official RNC effort. not that the RNC has issued any statements of condemantion or anything …

I was curious about that also.

I wonder if the RNC will comment on this plaintiff’s legal opinion and the statements on his website that (millions of) people who disagree with his opinion are traitors who should be summarily executed by firing squad and the sovereign citizen, fringe on the flag b.s. as well.
