Some wisecracking at the Gridiron dinner is reported at the National Journal.
President Obama got the Marine Band to give him a special musical introduction at the Gridiron Club’s annual dinner on Saturday night. After the traditional “Hail to the Chief,” Gunnery Sgt. Kevin Bennear sprang to the stage and as the band struck up the familiar chords of Bruce Springsteen’s anthem, belted out:
“Born in the U-S-A! Born in the U-S-A!”
“Some things just bear repeating,” said Obama, as an audience of more than 600 government officials and media executives broke up at the allusion to the long-running rumors over the president’s birth certificate.
My favorite was a reference by Gov. Mitch Daniels to Mike Huckabee’s recent gaffe:
[Daniels] noted that when Mike Huckabee mistakenly said Barack Obama was raised in Kenya, Sarah Palin corrected him by saying that Obama “hasn’t even been to Europe.”
This is going to REALLY “pith” off the birthers! Obama partying with Republicans? OUTRAGEOUS! 😉
If the birthers don’t wish to be publicly ridiculed, they should stop being ridiculous.

So where is it? BTW, Mitt Romney’s father George, was born in Mexico to a Mormon polygamist. He ran for pres – where where these people at that time? Who is George Romney’s REAL mother? All of the wives were preggers at the same time. Hmmm…
Oh, that’s right – he’s white.
I saw a recent posting on FreeRepublic.com where Obama had made a joke about his birth certificate. One person pointed out that Obama wouldn’t flaunt it like this if it were really an issue. Another poster replied to him saying that he’s wrong, Obama is just using “Alinski” (sic) tactics. Nothing is ever going to convince them that it’s not a problem for Obama.
Translation: Alinsky was a JEW.
Those states were red before, and they’ll be red again. My only concern is Ohio turning red.
I kind of doubt it, what with everything our governor is doing right now. People are pissed at Kasich. The unions will be coming out full force for Obama. Plus the fact that there’s no credible candidate on the Republican side.
Rush Limpballs…Classy as usual….
Mocking Obama’s Reaction To Japanese Disaster, Limbaugh Says: “Maybe The Birth Certificate’s In Osaka”

At the moment, Ohio is deeply red as a result of 2010…redder than I’ve ever seen it in my lifetime. We were always a fairly balanced purple state, but the pendulum overswung to “red meat – crazy angry red” this past election…which already has a lot of examples of extreme overreaching that could prove disasterous to our long suffering state that was just starting to show some long overdue signs of recovery with our previous Governor…
All we can hope is that 2012 restores balance.
I’m astounded at how quickly and to what extent Kasich has succeeded in pissing ever increasing segments of Ohio’s population off. It is not just the groups you would suspect that has gotten national attention for his actions: minorities, unions, teachers, democrats.
His plans and intended policies, overreaching and and excessive budgetary hack-and-slash ideas and statements have really started to worry and rile up a lot of our local county and municipal government folk and even certain small business owners. And I live in a very, very red county that is just about all conservative (yet mainly sane) Republican’s in just about every local office postion. (No “tea party types” have gotten a foothold…yet…). When these local GOP officials (who are serious about their jobs and seriously care more about this region and its growth/success) start referring to the governor and some of his plans in more and more disparaging and alarmed tones, you know the guy has gone way too far.
This from a white junkie. He’s an armchair warrior, who avoided the draft because he had boils on his ass. He failed out of college his first semester, like Glenn Beck, who is implicated in a rape and murder in 1990.
I wonder if Limbaugh is an accessory after the fact…
BTW, Limbaugh has the right ocean, but wrong country. Geography was never his strong point.
There are no depths this scumbag will sink
