Ken Bennett makes media splash

It must be something in the water in Arizona. Arizona Secretary of State who’s adopted a birther concern troll persona has backed himself into a corner, threatening (without any authority that I can find) to keep Barack Obama off the ballot unless Hawaii coughs up a verification of his birth certificate, like the web site and 3 press releases were chopped liver.

While I think it’s a non-story, the same media that birther accuse of burying every story about Obama’s eligibility is all over this one.

Just to list a few.

Is Arizona an expected win for Barack Obama? I thought it was pretty deep red territory already, and the Obama Justice Department’s lawsuit against the Arizona immigration law can’t be doing him any favors. I’m not saying he should be off the ballot, but would there be any actual harm if he were, aside from perhaps some public embarrassment?

Probably not but in recent years there has been a dramatic increase in independent voter registrations. Last time I recall seeing numbers it was about a third each for registered Republicans, Democrats and Independents.

The independents could make the difference.

We are currently considered a toss-up on some prediction maps and trying to turn it blue. There is the chance (not probability, but a chance) that we can pull it out for Obama.

A law created by Republicans (and ALEC) FOR Republicans. What does that have to do with Obama? Obama has been enforcing the removal of illegals at the border, despite righties trying to state that the federal government isn’t attending to the border situation. That’s not true at all. If anything is going to have a negative impact on Obama’s numbers here (with regards to Latinos, obvioiusly), it will be that – yet… SB1070 was a Republican initiative. They can’t say Obama is pushing the “Papers Please” b*llsh*t!

Consider the source, but, this is even being discussed on Fox News (ironically – to the very same people who don’t believe the Obama administration is doing enough at the border). – http://latino.foxnews.com/latino/politics/2012/05/21/fnl-exclusive-luis-gutierrez-on-obama-dream-act-romney/

So much for Bennett’s splash. If anything it looks like he has gone under for the last time.

Gotta give him points for at least figuring it out.
