What will $10,000 buy?

That’s the amount reportedly spent on the Maricopa County, Arizona, Cold Case Posse junket to Hawaii to investigate Barack Obama. Now, Sheriff Joe has scheduled another press conference July 17 at 2:30 local time at the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office to present the “results.” WND promises to stream the event (surprise, surprise).

I think answer to my titular question is: “more hot air, with a distinctly fecal odor.”

Joke Arpaio is embarrassing our county again.

  2. Rob A says:

Again, if they truly have “shockers”, they need to be turning them over to a prosecutor immediately. Why wait two more weeks for a news conference? Has Zullo written a sequel to his ebook?

  3. Wilson says:

Here we go again with hearsay and mundane Affidavits. Here is the “Breaking News” “Obama Classmate says he thinks he remembers Obama once saying he is a Muslim and might have said he was born in Kenya.”
Next big discovery “Hawaii Department of Health has many “Alvin Onaka” stamps floating around the Bureau. Now we know anyone could have stamped his Birth Certificate and the verification without his knowledge.”
Then of course we will then be privileged with more proof of Obama’s possible Lies with this GEM, “Obama’s Real Father could be Frank Marshall Davis witnesses say.”

The ignorance will continue and the fools will doll out more of their money to Flim Flam Men like Corsi and Farah.

  4. richCares says:

WND says it will be a major shocker, even birthers call it bull pupu, how many times will calling it a shocker when all it is is hot air.

  5. aarrgghh says:

why wait for joe’s presser? we already know what the “shocking” news will be:

“barack obama is a fraud — probably. send money.”

  6. JPotter says:

richCares: even birthers call it bull pupu,

The comments are getting pretty awesome! Anyone calling BS on the event is dismissed as an Obama apologist. The denial is getting deep as it wears thin. If these yucks could admit error, WND, the great enabler, would drop dead.

It’s going to be an exciting presser where rubber stamps are discussed. No one cares.

  8. Norbrook says:

I predict whines when it turns out that the rest of the media totally ignores anything Arpaio says, unless he turns out to say “I resign immediately.”

  9. Dave B. says:

Anything Arpaio’s going to say, he’d better say it fast.

  10. JPotter says:

Sheriff Joe Arpaio … [has] been promising more major revelations since … March 1 … and now [an] event has been scheduled to unveil new information. [’bout time]

The evidence will include information gathered in the posse’s recent investigative trip to Hawaii as well as an update on the ongoing investigation. [My, my! That does sound … subdued.]

Join with Sheriff Arpaio … by donating to … expenses [which will be refused by the decent citizens of Maricopa County], or contribute to a fund that supports investigations by both WND and the sheriff. [WAIT! He’s involved in more than one?!?]

… last month … a letter from [HDOH] … “opened the door” to some “shocking revelations” the posse is promising to disclose.

Among the details leaked [ leaked??? ] early by … Zullo: There are allegedly several stamps bearing Registrar Alvin Onaka’s name “floating around” …

“I can’t disclose to you what we’ve discovered, but it’s going to be a shocking revelation at our press conference,” Zullo told … Gillar … from Hawaii. [Whoa … how long have they been working on this thing? Where’s the sense of urgency? “Investigators” give “press” interviews while in the field? To tell someone there are office supplies in Hawaii?]

    Three weeks after … March 1 … Arpaio said there was “tons” more potentially shocking information … [Yes, at his church service. It was so shocking and he was in such definite possession of it, they had to go to Hawaii to find it}

Zullo … and his investigators have reservations … [Well, that’s damning. Zullo has dinner with anonymous “investigators”]

Does anyone really know where Obama is from? Find out the startling truth from New York Times best-selling author Jerome Corsi. [Sorry, that was an ad.]

Gillar said, “it sounds like the next press conference is going to be even more amazing than the last press conference back on March 1st.” [But what about the other two? Are we supposed to forget this is the 4th go ’round?]

“It will be … breathtaking …” [So is snoring]

This may be the moment we’ve all been dreading: could Arpaio’s investigators have found Hawaii 2?

  12. Joe Acerbic says:

I hope it buys some appropriate attention from sane Maricopa County taxpayers and voters. There’s got to be some, right?

  13. The Magic M says:

If Mara Zebest is involved again, her latest ramblings are an indication we might also expect the claim that the original BC says “Huwaii” (as in Huwai, Indonesia).

Also, another birther expert, this time a physiognomist, will likely submit an affidavit that there is a very high probability that Obama is the son of Frank Marshall Davis, or Malcolm X, or both and, incidentally, a half-brother of Mike Tyson and a step cousin of Will Smith.

Joe will then announce he is extending his investigation w.r.t. the question whether Hawaii really is a state or just a Mexican ploy to funnel illegals into the US (after all, “kahuna” and “cojones” sound alarmingly similar).

Finally he will ask for more donations to fly the #1 international expert on the law of nations, Oh-Lordy Ali G Monckton, to Hawaii to personally inspect the walls of Kapiolani Hospital for traces of sacred Vattel sperm.

I’d like to know where they got this $10K amount?
In or around the year 2000, I visited Hawaii with a friend.
We rented an on-shore condo for 10 days.
Cost was just over $2000 total for two people including airfare, car rental and shopping.
4 years earlier we also visited Tahiti, Bora Bora and Moorea, staying 10 days in the pricier overwater bungalows. Airfare (6) plane trips, meals and shopping came to just over $7K.
Therefore, how 2-3 people going roundtrip to Oahu for 7 days or less can cost $10K is beyond me.
Did they fly firstclass? If so.. why?
It’s only a 5-6 hr trip each way.

It’s suspected that they stayed at the Ala Moana Hotel (from various reports they mentioned staying just outside of Waikiki). Its condo-hotel, so rooms can run $179 to $360 a night for three rooms (you really think they shared rooms?). And they went during Memorial Day Weekend, so rates could have been $250 per night.

At the highest, 10 days = $10,800 for just the hotel stay
    At the lowest, 10 days = $5370

I’m guessing they didn’t get some cheap room in the Kona Tower, so my best guess would be $229 per night or a total of $8700

As for the daily food stipend and transportation expense (rental car, etc) it could total out to $10K easily.

Why couldn’t they just book the Waikiki YMCA and eat Spam, Rice, and Eggs at McDonald’s? The last time I was on Oahu, I paid $14/day for the rental car. It was a special with Alamo and the car I rented was awesome (a Subaru) compared to the usual junk most car rentals have.

  17. US Citizen says:

    I still don’t buy it.
I’ve stayed at the Ala Moana hotel.
It’s no better than the hundreds of other hotels within a mile from it.
It just has a famous name and a good view of Diamond Head.
Why is a luxury hotel necessary for an investigation?
Hell, if any of them are veterans, they could have stayed at the army barracks and they’re not as shabby as they sound.

The point I’m making is that I wasn’t slumming my trips in the least and they cost a fraction of the CCP’s costs.
Why they needed all those days is beyond me too.
I’d like to see their itinerary or task mission statement.
A breakdown of their efforts on a calendar.

What Donald Trump’s Birther Investigators Will Find in Hawaii

The path to Obama’s birth certificate, as told by someone who’s looked

it ends with: My friend says you can do the entire investigation in a single day: Leave DC first thing in the morning, obtain the documents, and you’ll still have time to sip a mai-tai on the beach before catching your flight home in the evening. He even went on Expedia and made me an itinerary: the whole trip would only cost $1228.40 (mai-tai not included).

I think part of the Hawaii trip expenses may have included the deputy’s salary – regular + overtime + holiday overtime.

  20. G says:

They did. There were local articles from the County committee that went over the breakdown of those expenses. If I recall, the largest expense item was “overtime” pay. Salary was also a separate line item.
