An Open Letter to Obama Conspiracy Theories

Apparently one of the birthers is disappointed that I didn’t include him on my “Birthers from A to Z” list. Frederick William Dame, essayist at The Obama Timeline has written an open letter to this site.

I have been thinking for the past couple of days about how I might respond to requests to remove someone from my birther list, but I didn’t contemplate someone asking to be added. Well Mr. Dame, congratulations! You’re on the list.

Mr. Dame writes that he thinks that every American Patriot should be on the list. The list, however, is only for “notable” persons. If someone files a lawsuit, or writes an article, hosts a web site, organizes a demonstration, murders somebody or something like that, then they qualify for the list.

I welcome any and all suggestions for additions to the list. You can just leave a comment—it’s not necessary to write an open letter.

  1. Curious George says:

Doc, I’ve got to hand it to you. You have the patience of Job. The man ridicules you and berates you, and you still are accommodating to Mr. Dame. Birthers could take a lesson, but won’t. You lead by example.

  2. AGROD says:

“He conducts his sexual relationships lying” – I assume that one is Mr. Dame accusing Obama of being gay? How do you sleep “lying”? I sleep laying down. Does that make me a usurper?

  3. Arthur says:

I guess when it comes to list the birthers, there ain’t nothing like a Dame.

  4. CarlOrcas says:

Maybe you need an “A” list and a “not-A” list….or maybe rank them 1 thru 5: Moderately impaired to batsh*t crazy.

  5. Dave B. says:

Mr. Dame, if that is his real name, claims to be “a natural born citizen of the United States of America,” yet he presents no birth records proving that he is a natural born citizen of the United States of America. Until he does so, to the satisfaction of a competent, trustworthy and independent authority, are we merely to presume that he is what, and whom, he claims to be?

  6. RanTalbott says:

Someone needs to check his “open letter” PDF for layers.

I also see mixed fonts and typestyles. That letter was clearly not written on any available typewriter.

    I call “forgery”!

  7. Jim says:

    RanTalbott:
    I call “forgery”!

    That’s too light…it must be 100% FORGERY!!!

  8. Rickey says:

Mr. Dame is another 65 years + white guy (it almost makes me ashamed to be a 65-year-old white guy). He has a website, and he has written an “Obama Timeline” (under the pseudonym “Don Frederick”) which is replete with falsehoods. Among them:

“Obama’s campaign has given the names of two different Hawaiian hospitals where he was supposed to have been born (Kapiolani Medical Center and Queens Medical Center, both in Honolulu).” (The Obama campaign has never said that he was born at Queens Medical Center)

“…Obama’s half-sister Maya Soetoro-Ng also has a Hawaiian short form certification of birth yet readily admits she was born in Indonesia in 1970.” (Obama’s sister does not now and hever has had a Hawaii birth certificate)

” A critical issue with regard to the Obama long form birth certificate is that Hawaiian law (Hawaii Revised Statute 338-17.8) allows the State of Hawaii to issue a certificate of live birth even if the child is born outside the state provided the parents have been legal residents of Hawaii for at least one year immediately preceding the birth.” (the statue in question was not in effect in 1961)

“Sarah Obama further states that she was present in the Mombasa delivery room when Obama was born.” (she never said any such thing)

“The hospitals contacted included Queen’s Medical Center (where Obama says be was born) and Kapiolani Medical Center (where Obama’s half-sister Maya Soetoro-Ng says he was born).” (Obama never said he was born at Queen’s Medical Center and his sister never said anything about which hospital he was born in)

I could go on, but you get the point.

  9. roadburner says:

    just read his letter.

another nobody crying out for recognition, eager to be plucked out of the solitary darkness that is internet birtherdom into the light of reality, not caring if it comes with public humiliation of his own making.

you want it baby, you got it.

  10. Bonsall Obot says:

I want Birther Brackets. I want a Fantasy Birther League. So many points for filing suit, so many for getting arrested, so many for calls to armed rebellion… we can have a draft, we can swap Birthers… think of the possibilities.

    I want this SO MUCH.

  11. RanTalbott says:

roadburner: another nobody crying out for recognition, eager to be plucked out of the solitary darkness that is internet birtherdom into the light of reality,

My impression, too. After a quick skim of the excerpt on his website, I think you should deny him the attention he craves, because he doesn’t deserve it, and is just looking for some free publicity.

He should be thankful we haven’t made English our official national language: he’d be in Gitmo for his attempts to torture it to death.

  12. Daniel says:

    Dear MR TV People:

I demand to be made star of “America’s Dumbest Criminal” episode.

    Thank you

  13. aarrgghh says:

always room for one more on the fail train.

  14. CarlOrcas says:

Rickey: I could go on, but you get the point.

    A wild guess….but I think he’s a birther.

  15. This guy seems to be suffering from an ego the size of a small star system with a level of conceit to match. As a work colleague of mine once observed of another unremarkable individual in a past life, he barely qualifies as a legend in his own lunchtime.

  16. What this guy was saying sounded to me like someone going to a grocery store and saying “I dare you not to sell me this carton of milk.”

  17. Or you could refer to The Debunker’s Guide to Obama Conspiracy Theories.

Rickey: I could go on, but you get the point.

  18. Benji Franklin says:

Doc, you wrote : “If someone files a lawsuit, or writes an article, hosts a web site, organizes a demonstration, MURDERS SOMEBODY or something like that, then they qualify for the list.” I assume you meant the murder part jocularly.

But Frederick William Dame appears to be a dangerous nut case on first blush. I recall a dramatic device used in many an adventure book or screenplay that stereotypes an academic historian as going off the rails imagining that their EARNED privileged perspective on the course of human events entitles them to alter the future in a way that will give them notorious credit for devinely, if horrifyingly intervening. That image has found tiresome expression in the rantings of this articulate lunatic-in-training.

His website displays the usual endless Birther anti-Obama lies and many essays including one 31 pages long published on April 10th, 2013, essentially justifying and seemingly inviting as justly inevitable, the assassination of President Obama, as the ultimate form of censorship suitable for “those ultimately responsible” (who else but Obama) for establishing what this dizzy Dame concludes is an “Absolutist regime” in place of the “political bands” established by the Constitution. In so penning, he blatantly recasts Obama in the role of the tyrant King George in his (Dame’s) modern day rewriting of the Declaration of Independence.

The piece is slyly entitled, “Censoring Obama”, but by the time you get to the end, he makes sure we know that “censoring” means “killing”. Eerily, he makes several gratuitous attempts to make us think that HE BELIEVES that assassination might not be the best solution, EVERY TIME that it’s employed. Right! Just when it has his blessing.

For those unable to read all 31 pages, in the two excerpts below, his essay begins:

    FREDERICK WILLIAM DAME

    “CENSORING OBAMA

History has always shown that assassination is a political expedient to get rid of a regime and absolutist rulers. – The Author

    Prelude:

Barack Hussein Obama was illegally elected to the Office of President of the United
States of America in 2008 and illegally re-elected in 2012. In the March Report of The Obama Timeline, Don Fredrick [actually Dame] points out what American constitutionalists have known concerning Barack Hussein Obama’s birth and what the American enemedia, the progressives, obots, leftists, dumbed-downers, and the Democratic Party refuse to admit. It is this: “According to Kenya’s constitution, a person born of a Kenyan parent—irrespective of the place of birth—automatically becomes a citizen of Kenya. Obama was therefore a Kenyan citizen at birth, by virtue of his father’s citizenship.”1

Therefore, Barack Hussein Obama is an illegal occupier of the Oval Office.”

And Dame’s virtual solicitation for assassination ends with:

“An Age of Absolutism has encapsulated the United States of America. Its tentacles
are ever expanding and destroying American heritage, culture, and freedoms. The
program of the Declaration of Independence is as timely nowadays as it was in 1776.

“When in the course of human events” the Obama regime decides it is
necessary “to dissolve the political bands” established by the Constitution
for the United States of America and to institute a political state of
Absolutism, “it is the Right of the People” to censor that regime “and to
institute a new government.” Particularly “when a long train of abuses and
usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to
reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to
throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future
security. … “The history of the present” absolutist regime “is a history of
rejected injuries and usurpations, all having in direct object the
    establishment of an absolute Tyranny.”

Given the actuality of these developments it could be in any respect only a matter
of time when the assassination of the regime’s assassins occurs. Assassination
conducted by a government regime is a method that censors its political adversaries. The assassination of the regime’s assassins and those ultimately responsible is the ultimate form of censorship. Carpe diem! ”

    Frederick William Dame
    Patriotic, Steadfast, and True
    April 10, 2013.

Carpe diem!? Really? Enjoy today with no thought for the consequences tomorrow? Another educated bigotted creep spouting hate and calling it “patriotism”. And just another Birther defending a Constitution which makes United States Citizens guilty until proven innocent.

  19. No, I was referring to Mr. Brunn, a birther that would not be notable except for his murder of the Holocaust Museum guard. By the same token, Darren Huff would not be notable except for his arrest and conviction on federal weapons charges.

Benji Franklin: Doc, you wrote : “If someone files a lawsuit, or writes an article, hosts a web site, organizes a demonstration, MURDERS SOMEBODY or something like that, then they qualify for the list.” I assume you meant the murder part jocularly.

  22. At least by asking to be put on the birther list he’s not “escalating.”

  23. foreigner=gsgs says:

I anticipate they’ll be making a list of most notable obots …

  24. US Citizen says:

    Good detective work, Rickey!

  25. Slartibartfast says:

Once again you show a lack of awareness of the birthers. KenyaBornObamaCorn used to make YouTube videos in which she “outed” obots by publishing a mishmash of accurate and fallacious personal information regarding those she saw as the enemy.

In any case, birthers are unable to work cooperatively together and are thus unable to come up with the sort of group effort that Doc instigated here.

    foreigner=gsgs:
I anticipate they’ll be making a list of most notable obots …

  26. By my definition of notable, there aren’t many Obots for a list. Basically, it would be the bloggers.

I suppose you could add every attorney that defended a birther lawsuit and every judge that ruled against a birther, but those folks were just doing their job. You could add every journalist who ever called birthers “debunked” or “discredited” and then the list gets large. Would you add Senator Graham (R-SC) who called birthers “crazy?”

I can’t think like a birther, so I don’t know who they would put on their list.

foreigner=gsgs: I anticipate they’ll be making a list of most notable obots …

  27. Slartibartfast says:

The birthers seem to like to make individuals like you or Foggy the focus of their wrath rather than making lists. The better to demonize their opponents, I suspect.

Dr. Conspiracy: I can’t think like a birther, so I don’t know who they would put on their list.

  28. JPotter says:

    foreigner=gsgs:
I anticipate they’ll be making a list of most notable obots …

Citing their spot logic, that would instaneously mushroom into everyone who failed to agree with them on anything negative regarding politics, ever. Which would result in internecine warfare, due to disagreements amongst their own ranks.

I like your plan, sir. please recommend it to all your birfer friends!

  29. The Magic M says:

Dr. Conspiracy: By my definition of notable, there aren’t many Obots for a list.

Since birthers are convinced we are all the same five people paid by Soros, any “Obot list” would necessarily be short – because anything else would mean admitting their claims about our numbers were wrong, and they can never admit any mistake.

  30. Bovril says:

I think it would be safe to say that there at least 65,915,796 individuals who are effectively anti-birthers……. 😎

  31. welsh dragon says:

Rickey: He has a website, and he has written an “Obama Timeline” (under the pseudonym “Don Frederick”)

FWIW I don’t think Dame is Don Frederick. Dame recently published a book that Don Frederick wrote a foreword (Pam Geller also wrote a foreword).

  32. Dr Kenneth Noisewater says:

welsh dragon: FWIW I don’t think Dame is Don Frederick. Dame recently published a book that Don Frederick wrote a foreword (Pam Geller also wrote a foreword).

I’ve heard the Don Frederick name before. Some birther brought it up on one of the Lakin book reviews.

  33. Kiwiwriter says:

I looked through his website, and feel like I need to wash my hands.

Some of his stuff are just photographs and cartoons with anti-Obama doggerel. A lot are just links to other websites, a number of them no longer active — he does NOT do maintainence on the site.

One of his posts complains that a Google map of the United States was in Arabic. There’s a hanging offense.

Most of his stuff are just links to the right-wing echo chamber, using other guys’ rubbish. American Spectator, Lew Rockwell, and Pajamas Media.Com are his favorites. The link to a PJ article predicting a Republican landslide in 2012 is still there. Another one saying that the 2012 election would not take place, replaced by martial law, was also still there, despite obvious obsolescence and insanity.

He reprints an open letter from Orly Taitz…no surprise.

A lot of Rand Paul, flag-waving, a letter from a Marine in Afghanistan on how things are going from the foxhole. He hates Abraham Lincoln (actually, not a surprise).

A lot of impending tyranny and economic collapse stuff, most of it stupid nonsense. In October 2011, we were two weeks from an economic meltdown.

    He loves Herman Cain.

“25 signs that the Nazification of America is almost complete,” by “Right Side News.” Like they’re bothered by Herr Hitler. Always with the “Hitler Zombie.”

“Choir Director murdered to conceal Obama’s homosexuality/drug use?” Didn’t we hear similar stuff about Clinton?

I don’t ever want to look at that page again…it’s an example of mental diarrhea.

His own stuff is short bursts with lots of cartoons and mean-spirited humor. Mostly about the usual right-wing penknives. “Mythbusters” at the White House, for example.

  34. Rickey says:

welsh dragon: FWIW I don’t think Dame is Don Frederick. Dame recently published a book that Don Frederick wrote a foreword (Pam Geller also wrote a foreword).

It looks like you are correct amd I jumped to a conclusion. “Don Fredrick” has four self-published books which are for sale at Amazon. None of them are selling very well.
