There’s some traffic on the Obot channels speculating what Zullo is going to come up with next. I have some significant doubts about it because I can’t believe Zullo would come out with such conspiracy claptrap that’s so far unrelated to Obama as to stretch credulity, feh.
If it’s true, it will be a good cautionary tale reminding us that otherwise sensible people can get sucked into conspiracist nonsense. I better hit the books and start debunking this one just in case.

I expect Zullo is desperately trying to find some spurious nonsense that he can say is a criminal act or acts by Obama but alas all DA’s etc have been gotten too.
I mean, other than Lizard folk or trying to load up an Obama version of the Clinton Death List I think he’s basically shot his load.
Howsumever, when has Kommandant Zero ever shown himself to have been overtaken with even the slightest outbreak of common sense, or even sense for that matter? He has to be waiting around for something, the question now is what?
While I don’t think he’s taken complete leave of his senses, he hasn’t quit the field yet either, which means he either still thinks there is still some graft to be had, he’s waiting for one last gasp at fame and fortune, or he’s just plain too stupid to read the cards and doesn’t know when to fold his tent and slip silently away, which I am most certainly not discounting. Sometimes stupid is not only the simplest answer, it is the ONLY answer.
Kold Kase Kommandante Zullo is shameless, but not stupid (think of every used-car salesman you’ve ever known.) He has no compunction about lying, but he’s trying to find something plausible he can use to dazzle the marks even after it’s been utterly debunked (his last few scams collapsed within hours.) Stringing them along like he’s done for over a year is the best way to keep the donations coming without having to answer questions.
As always with Zullo, it’s cherchez le dough.
Remember, Zullo doesn’t need to come up with something all that good, just something that the birthers (at least the donors in his sect of birtherism) are willing to believe. I think Zullo is trying one or more of the following:
1. Lying low—if the tax man is sniffing around, then Captain Z might be trying to keep his grift as much on the down-low as possible.
2. Milking what’s left in the teat—if he can’t come up with a new announcement that will increase donations or can’t afford any visibility right now, he might be trying to stay in stealth mode and continue collecting any regular donations until the sources finally dry up.
3. Planning a new “event”—Trying to come up with some kind of announcement that will revive the grift (at least for a bit). I agree with Bovril that there isn’t much in the way of viable conspiracy theories out there, but he already has a group of marks selected for extreme gullibility. He might be able to come up with something that creates a short-term spike before his failure to deliver anything breaks the spell.
Whatever he chooses to do, I’m sure he’ll be seeing diminishing returns as the birther zeitgeist continues to ebb.
The next thing I’d like to hear about Zullo is his arrest for tax evasion…make my day! 😀

If the history of birtherism has taught us anything, it’s that rehashing always works. So anything other than the “universe shattering” stuff is probably going to be a rehash of previous Zulloisms, like “we now have VIP’s moving things forward” or something. Those who still believe in the Second Coming of Zullo are so far out that they will believe *anything* that reinforces their belief, so they won’t even notice “hey, haven’t we heard this one before?”.
I think, and have always thought, that the key ingredients to birtherism or birfoonity, are a very short attention span is paramount, lack of critical thinking, the constant looking for something new, bright and shiny, doesn’t matter if they’ve seen it/heard it before, short attention span comes in to play here too, and not only willing suspension of disbelief, but willing complicity in ignoring anything that contradicts reality as they want to see it. So Zullo has a ready made audience for his grift since none of them remember much past yesterday and whatever the latest shiny and new is. So he has pretty much of an ever refreshing collection of suckers, the only problem is that they are getting fewer and fewer, remember that attention span thingy, they’ve wandered off elsewhere when he wasn’t keeping them amused and entertained, and broker and broker.

I personally have a hard time believing that Mike Zullo posts as Joe Mannix at BR because the Mannix guy is just too clueless about the fake race code story, making arguments that Zullo would know better than to make.
But as to your other suggestion, I think it has merit insofar as a birther falling for it. I don’t think it accurate to say that Obama was “detained” in Russia, but rather that he was delayed. I was “detained” by the Canadian authorities once (for no good reason) which consisted of being taken into a room and questioned for a while and then allowed to enter Canada. I think they just randomly do stuff like that.
BTW, there was no “warning” for US Travelers to Pakistan in 1981–there was an advisory, and it was just some advice on getting a visa and not overstaying it.

As has been pointed out- Obama and Luger were both ‘detained’ at the same time- and together.

Crud, they finally figured it out, and just when the MULTIVERSE SHATTERING evidence was ready to be sent to Admiral General Zullo to stop the release of the universe shattering stuff.
Well, Joe, I’m a’feared that Birthers don’t believe in Multiverses; they believe in an infinite Universe bound only by Obama’s incompetence.
I am not privy to the sekrit obot back channels, even though I are a obot, but I can speculate about Zullo’s big evidence, too . In fact, I have two speculations. The first, which I think by far most likely, is that he has nothing. But that’s no fun, so I also have a second speculation, which is that it’s all about the claims that an anti-birther IP address belongs to DARPA. I don’t think I ever understood what they allege DARPA guy did, but I suppose the crime was making an anti-birther comment at BR. It seems plausible that they could imagine this is a criminal act, and since DARPA is a part of the executive branch, they could also imagine that it was specifically directed by Obama.
Here in reality, the government can at times be quite fussy about non-work use of their computers — not consistently fussy, but occasionally throwing a fit about it — so it is conceivable, though just barely, that if someone working at DARPA posted a comment at BR, they could get some sort of disciplinary action. Criminal charges don’t seem very likely, unless they are brought by a Super American Grand Jury.
I guess we’ll have to wait until Zullo condescends to speak — but I fear that will be like waiting for the Birther Summit.
