Arpaio briefly mentions birth certificate at GOP fundraiser

The Thousand Oaks Acorn (CA) reports Sheriff Joe Arpaio delivered a well-received address at a local fundraiser for the GOP, Oct. 13, in which he reportedly mentioned his birth certificate investigation only briefly.

In a pre-event interview, Arpaio said his law enforcement philosophy is “tough love.” Who knew? Read the article for lots more of Joe Arpaio playing nice.

You really are a “birther” if you believe this guy.

Is it bad that I just wish he’d keel over already?

And yet, every time I call his office and ask if he’s investigating Obama’s birth certificate, they tell me no. Hmmm!

Our grifting sheriff is real piece of work.

I believe that’s Thousand Oaks, California.

Certainly is! I was born in that valley, parents went to high school there!

So sorry I missed Papa ‘Paio … by 30yrs. If only it could have been 31. Or 32. Or 33 ….

  6. bgansel9 says:

Yes, Thousand Oaks is in California. Our grifting sheriff went out-of-state to make stump speeches and I’ll bet he’s charging that to our taxpayers too.

“And yet, every time I call his office and ask if he’s investigating Obama’s birth certificate, they tell me no.”

Remember, the volunteer, nonprofit CCCP corporation is doing the investimagination allegedly at no expense to the taxpayers. They’re correct when the Sheriff’s Office says that they aren’t doing a birth certificate investimagination.

    Pretty tricky aren’t they?

Do you offer “hot, anonymous” tips when you call?

Maybe you just don’t have the secret password?

  9. bgansel9 says:

JPotter: Maybe you just don’t have the secret password?

I don’t want the secret password, I want to know what they’re telling the taxpayers who pay their salary.

Sure, no cost to the taxpayer, just use a bit of county money and then move some money over to pay it back and nobody will ever be the wiser, except*… http://www.wnd.com/2012/06/county-refuses-funds-for-sheriff-joes-obama-probe/

*deliicous irony that the link comes from Corsi’s site. LOL

Oh, and just for follow up, Arpaio’s assistant was wrong. Stapley and Wilcox had their lawsuits settled and Arpaio owes the county for those funds.

  11. Rickey says:

I noticed that birther Gary Wilmott is quoted in that article, but he didn’t mention Obama.

  12. Curious George says:

    Yes, here’s Wilmott’s quote……

“He [Arpaio] tells it like it is; however, I think when there’s delicate issues, he’s quite the politician,” said Gary Wilmott, a resident of Simi Valley. “He can certainly skirt around the issues if need be.”

Proof positive another gullible birther. And yes, Arpaio has skirted the Birther issue for three years but in a way that still brought in over $8 million in campaign donations in 2012. And yes, he is a politician’s politician.

I especially like the part in the article where Arpaio now tries to distance himself from his self anointed title of “Ameica’s Toughest Sheriff.” Once one sees The JOE SHOW, you’ll see why good old Joe is trying to display the kinder, more gentle Joe.

“BTW Strauss, just completed my links palette analysis. It is true, the long form posted to the white house web site does indeed contain 9 separate links when it should only contain 1. No matter how you slice it, that proves indisputably that this document was forged.”

  14. Suranis says:

Gosh, you mean it had an 8 bit colour palate which is the bare minimum anything on the internet that has 2 non white colours would have? Colour me shocked.

And yeah the 9th colour he is talking about would be “null” which shows up as white. Things on the internet have either 2 colours, 8, 256, 16k or above colours. If it has 2 non white then it is a minimum of 8 bit colour. So the colour layer where the background is on would have 8 “inks” minimum, plus 1 which is no colour filling the space at all. meaning in his world there would be 9.

Sorry that his proof of forgery is only something that computers have been using for the last 40 years.

Fee free to use that info I learned when I was 8 years old teaching myself Sinclair Spectrum programming.

And I tried signing up to that forum you wanted help with last week. Despite me signing up with 2 different emails they never sent me a confirmation email. I guess my reputation proceeds me.

  15. That is a vague claim with no documentation so I would have to assume this guy has opened up the document in Adobe CS2 and looked at the layers panel.

When I ran my Xerox WorkCentre testing with a similar document by scanning to email then taking that document and opening the file and re-saving it on a a Mac in OSX the construction of the layers is identical to the WH LFBC. Preview adds an top level masking layer that puts the white border around the edge at the margins of the default printer. I see the same thing in Adobe CS2 in both my document and the LFBC PDF.

Here is a link to my test file:

ellen: It is true, the long form posted to the white house web site does indeed contain 9 separate links when it should only contain 1. No matter how you slice it, that proves indisputably that this document was forged.

What it “proves indisputably” is that you’re dealing with a blowhard: that’s just a rephrase of the “it’s got layers” BS.

Remind him that even the Clueless Clown Posse conceded that optimizing creates multiple layers. It’s just that the Xerox software in the 7655 is better at figuring out what parts go together, so it made fewer of them.

  21. ellen says:

    Thanks Ran!

BTW, the blowhard said this after seeing Reality Check’s excellent comment.

“Yet again, you seem to have missed the obvious. NOTHING you could produce replicated the image. Nothing I could produce replicated the image. That left, AT THAT POINT, the only conclusion that the image had to have been manually constructed. That was the problem with EVERYTHING you presented. However, Reality Check indeed produced the course and mechanisms for DUPLICATING the image. If a course of action through the range of equipment AND software produces a DUPLICATE, then we know we have found the METHOD that created the image in the first place. Which proves that I WAS ENTIRELY CORRECT about the third part half truths you were posting AND I was entirely correct that those methods WERE NOT what created that document. On the other hand, WHAT I was able to experiment with DEMONSTRATED CLEARLY, the posts you provided were in error although NEITHER COULD I replicate the image. Since Reality Check has now provided the sequence of events that DUPLICATE the image, you and I both now have a credible source to cite in regards to the image. Likewise, it further proves I WAS NOT, NOR WAS I EVER refusing to accept truth. In fact I was refusing to accept half truths as I knew they did nothing to replicate the image. Perhaps Strauss can one day accept I was indeed correct in referring to his sources as half truths.”

    Smrstrauss responded:

“Re: ” That left, AT THAT POINT, the only conclusion that the image had to have been manually constructed.”

NO, what it left was it being a paper document on security paper that was scanned, optimized and put into pdf and displayed. That’s all.

BTW, my understanding is that what Reality Check did was to scan a document on paper and that in fact it did produce a duplicate, and that as you admitted demonstrates “the METHOD that created the image in the first place.” In short, the method that created the pdf image was scanning the birth certificate.

That is particularly likely since the officials of Hawaii have stated that they SENT the long form (the short form too of course) to Obama ON PAPER and that all the facts on the pdf image put online by the White House are precisely THE SAME as on what they sent to him.”

  22. RanTalbott says:

Suranis: Gosh, you mean it had an 8 bit colour palate which is the bare minimum anything on the internet that has 2 non white colours would have?

No, the “links palette” is just the Adobe GUI element for showing a list of the objects (aka “layers”) in the PDF file. It’s a window much like that used by some file managers to show directory tree structures, with sub-lists you can expand and collapse to show/hide lower levels of the hierarchy.

  23. JPotter says:

“links palette analysis”?? Meaning, I opened the Links palette and looked at it? LOL! Personal links palette observation, more like it 😛

Tell him to send it to a printer. That will give him one layer. 😛

I never heard of that Downtrend site before but after glancing at it I get the feeling it’s raison d’être is a meeting place for racists. Any subject seems to be a good excuse for saying something ugly about Black people. They don’t even try to hide it.

  29. Andrew Vrba, PmG says:

Keith: I just want to publicly disassociate myself from the usurper posting on that site.

    Off topic, but amusing.
You know where I first learned the word “usurper”?
From The classic PC game Civilization. It had a copy-protection system where a screen pops up mid-game stating “A usurper claims that you are not the rightful king. To prove yourself worthy, you must answer this question correctly:”, and you would refer to the manual for the answer. As this was years before the internet was really a thing, I had to go and actually use a dictionary to look words up. Such barbaric times.

The copy I had came bundled with a version of “Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego”. That game had me reaching for an encyclopedia constantly.
