While the soup pot for Mike Zullo warms up in anticipation of October 7, there is another area under scrutiny. It deals with the failure of the MCSO to produce 1,500 ID’s confiscated by MCSO that the Court says it had ordered be delivered. Subsequently US Marshals took possession of the IDs. There was a suggestion that counsel for Arpaio might have been involved in the non-production of the IDs and now Judge Snow has today granted plaintiff’s motion to compel testimony regarding discussion about production of the IDs Counsel had with MCSO on July 17, 2015. In particular the finger is pointed at attorney Michele Iafrate. The motion was filed September 10, and is document 1319 in Case 2:07-cv-02513.
Plaintiffs also filed a second notice of the deposition of David Tennyson that was to be held today (Sept. 28). Sgt. Tennyson was accused of conducting an inadequate interrogation during the internal criminal investigation of illegal activity by the Department’s Human Smuggling Unit. See: “Arpaio’s Chief Deputy Shredded on the Stand” for more on Tennyson.

John Cleese explains what is going on in the MCSO
The latest from Lemons
http://www.phoenixnewtimes.com/news/subpoenas-show-arpaios-woes-in-contempt-trial-just-beginning-7700110
“Stanley Young of the firm Covington and Burling, which along with the ACLU, represents the plaintiffs in the underlying court case, Melendres v. Arpaio, described during the first day of the trial, a fax to Arpaio that came from this same Bellevue number.
The fax, which was “received and reviewed by Sheriff Arpaio,” said Young, is a timeline of the supposed conspiracy, “with references to members of the [DOJ] and to the Melendres case.”
Attached to the fax, and part of a two-page exhibit, is “a typewritten document by Sheriff Arpaio,” Young said, which “refers to a November 6, 2013 telephone call received by the sheriff.”
Young’s colleague Cecillia Wang of the ACLU followed up with Sheridan about the exhibit during her merciless, two-day interrogation of the chief deputy.
Sheridan confirmed to Wang that Arpaio uses a manual typewriter, like the one used for the second page of the document, and that the handwriting at the top of that page resembles Arpaio’s.
The typewritten page has yet to be made public. But documents apparently produced by Montgomery, such as the timeline mentioned above and a flow chart of the conspiracy, have been published in the court record.”
Sounds like they have a smoking gun tying Arpaio with the Seattle Operation. This week’s going to be fun. Stock up on the popcorn.
A pretty bunch…the bright side to this is that these clowns are so busy with this court case, they don’t have time to grift for money.
There’s lots more that’s interesting in Lemons’ article.
It sounds like the plaintiff’s attorneys, the ACLU, the court-appointed monitor and Judge Snow are really serious about getting in there and cleaning out Arpaio’s cesspool.
I just hope Arpaio and his goons don’t find a way to wriggle out. Lemons mentions the possibility of the case going to the US Attorney’s Office, “which has proven spineless in the past.”
Hopefully Snow will appoint a special prosecutor or whatever course needs to be taken in order to actually fix the massive problem that is the MCSO.

If true I can’t imagine how Arpaio (forget the others) avoids a criminal contempt referral.
Notice Lemon’s speculation that Snow can appoint a special prosecutor rather than refer to DOJ. If that happens I suspect it opens up all kinds of possibilities.
Yeah, it’s real hard to trace that stuff when it comes in an official evidence bag.
Mind boggling. The way real police handle evidence is to write pertinent information….like the date, DR number, blah blah on the bag before you put stuff in it. (that chain of evidence thingy)
Now if they didn’t mark the bags in any way it demonstrates clear intent to misappropriate (steal??) the evidence.
Stupid, stupid, stupid.
Sounds like Judge Snow is now questioning Sheridan…

RE: [Quote From ‘ARPAIO’S CHIEF DEPUTY SHREDDED ON THE STAND,’
by STEPHEN LEMONS, FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 25, 2015]
“Arpaio and Sheridan already have admitted that they are in civil contempt of federal Judge G. Murray Snow’s court in the ACLU’s big civil rights case, Melendres v. Arpaio.
What remains is the fate of the other defendants, remedies for the civil violations, and the possibility of criminal contempt charges for Arpaio, Sheridan, and the rest.”

I Just had a horrible thought…
What if the lawyers work out a settlement and Zullo becomes unneeded?
Another Arpaio classic:
“Sometimes I say things I don’t mean,” Arpaio replied, “when [I’m] dealing with the press.”
