In a bizarre story that has been floating around and now appears with details at the Phoenix New Times, the police were called to force Maricopa County Cold Case Posse leader Mike Zullo to leave a Hawaii assisted living facility where aging Hawaiian vital records registrar Verna K. Lee resides. Lee signed Barack Obama’s birth certificate back in 1961. Read the narrative at Phoenix New Times.
Zullo’s credibility is in tatters after his squalid press conference back on the 17th of July left anti-birthers with a cornucopia of evidence to expose the dishonesty of the Posse, including outright lies and fabrication of evidence.
Zullo dragged Verna Lee into the story by naming her as a consultant to the Posse (the 95-year old Lee actually contributed nothing much of note) to give it a veneer of respectability. This is where he presented a fake “1961 vital statistics instruction manual” to show internal inconsistencies in Obama’s certificate. Only it was quickly discovered that his images came from a totally different 1968 and 1969 manuals, and a certificate published by WorldNetDaily disproves the code table they presented as well as disproving the certificate numbering theory they presented as fact.
Zullo is no doubt desperate to salvage his discredited reputation by interrogating Lee and persuading her to say something that would help him wiggle out from under the pile of lies he’s buried himself in.
Birthers say, of course, that somebody “got to Lee” and that’s why she refused to see Mike Zullo: classic conspiracy thinking.

What a disgusting creature. I hope Mrs. Lee has some big, burly relatives who can take care of Zullo or any birfoon who tries to harass her again.
Of course, one must recall that Corsi and Zullo claimed in the July press conference that they had a lengthy phone conversation with Lee, and gave a number of “quotes” from her. When their manual was found out to be fake and one of their numbering theories debunked, they suddenly released more “quotes” from Ms. Lee that they left out the first time that conveniently backed up every word they said.
Despite claiming that the entire conversation was recorded and they would release said recordings “soon”, they haven’t done so.
My assumption is that in their first trip to Hawaii, they tried to meet with her and failed, then fabricated the story of speaking to her out of whole cloth (hence the lack of recording), and now failed a second time, and are using the unverified “fact” of the phone conversation to insinuate that she USED to be willing to talk to them.
Go ahead, Zullo. Release the tapes!

Very interesting account. It appears the Hawaii DOH probably coerced Verna Lee into not cooperating anymore. Zullo is getting too close. They know Verna Lee has knowledge that will expose the giant cover up being orchestrated at the DOH. The Hawaii DOH must take any and all steps to protect itself from criminal prosecution.

No doubt he hoped to ask the 95 year old Ms. Lee leading questions about events and practices from 50 years ago, so that he could say that her answers confirmed his claims.
I also wonder if, perhaps, Ms. Lee has family that the facility contacted while Zullo was waiting in his car, and they gave instructions to keep the creep away.

Now, if they really wanted information from Ms. Lee, they could go to the Prosecuting Attorney, have them go to the judge and ask them to convene a grand jury. From there, the prosecutor can actually subpoena her (and work with Hawaii) to have her testify about what she knows.
I suppose this would put a crimp on having another press conference and WND article since Grand Jury investigations are normally secret.
