Orly Taitz has been trying to compel Sheriff Joe Arpaio to testify in her cases, previously in Georgia and more recently in Indiana in Taitz v. Elections Commission. In the prior instance, the County Attorney replied to the subpoena, saying it wasn’t valid. That was a orderly and proper official response.
However, Taitz has been trying to raise an uproar, filing suit in Arizona to compel Arpaio to testify, and she has been urging supporters to contact the Sheriff’s office demanding that he fly to Indiana. The Indiana trial is over now, but post mortem I am wondering if what Orly Taitz did was altogether safe.
There is an allegation, in the form of an affidavit before a federal appeals court, that Maricopa County employees assaulted a man named Scott Huminski as he tried to serve papers on the Sheriff, and that they threatened to kill him if he persisted with his lawsuit. I hasten to add that a document filed in a lawsuit is not evidence of anything beyond the fact that it was filed. Nevertheless, it makes chilling reading.
Arpaio& AZ police use murder threats to obstruct Federal Litigation – 9th Cir. Court Filing
Arpaio will do anything to keep from committing perjury.
It’s probably NOT safe to try to serve papers on Sheriff Arpaio. The Maricopa County Sheriff’s office is notoriously violent and abusive.
Toto, we’re not in Vermont anymore.
Orly is playing with fire.
It’s not like Philly: Philadelphia Officer Who Punched Woman to Be Fired
http://abcnews.go.com/US/philadelphia-officer-punched-woman-fired/story?id=17388824#.UIcyZG_WISE
The Philadelphia cop caught on video punching a woman in the face will be fired, according to ABC News’ Philadelphia station WPVI.
A video posted on YouTube shows Lt. Jonathan Josey punching a woman in the face and knocking her to the ground before she is led off bloodied and handcuffed.
Earlier today, the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office said it intends to drop the disorderly conduct charge against the woman who was hit.
He has insisted he has secret knowledge, he should have anticipated the possibility of people taking him at his word.
I guess that’s where the goon squads come in.
Will Don Arpaio have Taitz disappearred?
Nah.
What a farce, tho, a psychotic making frivolous efforts to compel an egomaniac to detail the fiber of his ephemeral bullshit.
Rational people just cut to the chase and call the bullshit, “bullshit.”
I’ll get the popcorn while the madmen go at each other. What an entertainment.
Note: of course I think death threats are a serious thing, if this actually happened. Nevertheless the lunatics who have no problem uttering death threats (such as “Obama must be hanged for treason”) deserve a taste of their own medicine.
Eh, you need to take anything claimed by this Huminski dude with a shaker of salt.

Looks like he might be able to teach Orly a thing or two about being a vexatious litigant.
http://www.thepeoplesview.net/2008/08/scott-huminski-idiot-per-se.html
Huminski has written a book called “Howard Dean’s Police State of Vermont, Sotomayor and Government Crime” which is a rambling nut-job diatribe of Orlyesque proportions. I looked at bits of it on SmashWords and it’s a catalogue of whinges about how his rights have been subverted. Long quotes from court transcripts, lots of he said, she said stuff.
Possibly Huminski does have some legitimate cause for complaint underneath his grumbles. But (if my skimming picked up his message correctly) he claims to have been personally ruined by the corruption of Vermont judges and everybody. He’s the sort of idiot who picks a fight and doesn’t know when to stop and doesn’t appreciate that people don’t like being harassed by monomanic nutters. (As Ms Taitz will find out when Mr Tepper decides it’s time to unsheath his sword, especially when she might find that her outrageous defamation of him in drafts of court pleadings published on her website might not attract the same immunity as full court documents!)
Just to be clear: I don’t think Taitz has anything legitimate underlying her racist, lying attacks on the duly elected President of the United States.
One of the shames of all of this nuttery is that those engaging in these prolonged campaigns of nastiness don’t appreciate that the fact that they’re allowed to complain and continue to complain is a credit to the society they live in. In many countries, they would long ago have been frightened off by large men in the night with blunt instruments or completely “disappeared”.
This might actually be relatively accurate, sadly. It’s not like the Maricopa Sheriff’s Dept. cares much for judicial procedure. A couple years ago, one of their deputies was caught on video tape stealing documents from a defense attorney’s file in a courtroom; when the judge tried to punish the defendant, the sheriff’s department refused to recognize the court’s jurisdiction, saying that only Arpaio could discipline deputies.
