  1. So I was out mowing, but no great idea for an article came to me. I did remember the inspirational song “I believe” and I started working on new words:

I believe for every drop of rain that falls,
    I birther fails.

But it didn’t go much past that.

  2. Jim says:

We’re getting a blast of cold here in the midwest…only up to 67 degrees now.

I Believe, for all the homoerotic fantasies that spews from the birthers…
They’re going to need a bigger closet for themselves.

    Here’s some more:

I believe for every drop of rain that falls
    A birther fails,
I believe that every time Obama smiles,
    A birther rails,
I believe for every “john” who falls away
Another “Falcon” comes to join the fray,
    I believe, I believe.

I thought I would mention this bit of French news here:

The (undisputed) facts are as follows:

Under President Hollande, the new Garde des Sceaux (Attorney General, if you wish) is Ms Christiane Taubira, a “black” woman born in Cayenne in French Guyana. Here is her French wiki page:

    http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christiane_Taubira

Beyond the opposition to her social liberal policies (which I won’t detail here), the French National Front (far right) (FN) also hates her because she is black.

One vocal member of the FN who was also being pegged to run for local office displayed a picture of a baby monkey and Ms Taubira in a before/after mode on her facebook page. When interviewed on a TV program, she stood by her display and added that she would prefer to see Ms Taubira in a tree where she belongs instead of in the government.

    http://rt.com/news/173160-france-facebook-insult-monkey/

Faced with public condemnation, the FN then took away their endorsement and the woman in question ended up not running for office.

In France racist speech falls under the scope of the law of 1881 on freedom of the press (that now includes the internet) which states that “those who […] have advocated discrimination, hatred or violence against a person or group of persons because of their origins or their appartenance or non-appartenance in an ethnic group, nation, race or religion, shall be punished by one year’s imprisonment and / or a fine of € 45,000.. ”

Ms Taubira considered it beneath her dignity to file a complaint but a local Guyanese association founded by Ms Taubira did. The case was heard in Cayenne in Guyana.

The verdict came out yesterday. The offending party was condemned to 9 months jail time (not suspended) and a fine of 50,000 euros. The FN was also fined 30.000 euros although there is no provision in the French penal code to fine a corporation of legal entity (as opposed to a physical person) for such an offense.

The sentences are being appealed, of course. It’s very likely that the fine against the FN will be overturned for the reason mentioned above.

To provide some context, last April, two antisemites were also condemned to a five months sentence for an antisemitic video posted on YouTube. Last May a far right Breton blogger was condemned to 16 months, but suspended.

I know such litigation could not take place in the US because of your first amendment, but I (as well as the vast majority of French people) are pleased to see that people who debase the national debate with vile racial invective are prosecuted.

  15. Thomas Brown says:

Why yes. Some claim Obama had the plane shot down to distract the public from… wait for it…

    …the Border “Crisis!”

Apparently the President could engineer covert assassinations, bombings, political uprisings, disease outbreaks, embassy attacks, natural disasters, plane crashes and the like to endlessly distract attention from his previous criminal acts, and so flawlessly that no evidence ever comes out that he was involved… but he will be shambled off in leg irons any day now because he was unable to produce a fake Birth Certificate that wasn’t a clumsy, obvious forgery.

That’s quantum birtherism for you. Just as physicists describe light as both a wave and a particle, so birthers describe Obama as both a master of evil and an inept clown.

I thought the “border crisis” was just a distraction from the Bundy Ranch which was just a distraction from Benghaaaaaaaazi which was just a distraction from the birth certificate?

Arthur: connecting the dots between the destruction of the Malaysian airplane and the pResident

Obviously the plane was MH370 which was on its way to Moscow to deliver a nuclear bomb as a false flag to distract from Benghazi but Putin was too clever and too manly to fall for this Obama trickery.
And the real MH17 will now be used for a false flag in the US (like crashing in Seattle to stop the undead Kurt Cobain from releasing the real birth certificate).

Well, that sums up my daily dose of crazy. I bet the real conspiracy terrorists theorists will come up with something even more ridiculous.

A couple of days ago I was thinking – man, it’s been a while since one of Hussein’s patented false flags and one drops out of the sky, right on cue. And to top it all off the out-pouring of emotions from the gay community is reaching it’s zenith. These researchers were all that stood between them, believing in God and all the anonymous gay sex a queen could dream up. Now that’s all down the terilt.

Gays could care less that kids were victims. Not one peep that anyone so young lost their life before they could even experience the first taste of life. Only that AIDS researchers – the pinnacle of a God in the gay community didn’t make it to Australia for the gay round-up. Back to worshiping Richard Dawkins and meth filled night at the bathhouse.

Any post from the Birdman that starts with “A couple of days ago I was thinking…” is bound to not disappoint, but with this new one, the Birdman has again topped himself.

Drudge Hypes Obama Birthplace Conspiracy Theory Poll

The Drudge Report on Monday played up a new poll on conspiracy theories by gleefully writing that many Americans are skeptical that Obama was born in the U.S.

Drudge headlined a Rasmussen poll on how many people believe the Obama birthplace conspiracy theory with, “Shock Poll: 40% Still Not Sure Obama Is American Citizen…”

Drudge posted the headline quickly before linking to the poll, and later sent readers to Rasmussen’s lighthearted poll on conspiracy theories.

According to the Rasmussen poll, 23% of Americans said the conspiracy theory that Obama was not born in the U.S. was true, and 17% said they were unsure. 60% rejected the theory.

“Please note that the correct title of Vattel’s Book I, Chapter 19, section 212, is “Of the citizens and naturals”. It is not “Of citizens and natives” as it was originally translated into English; while other translation errors were corrected in reprints, that 1759 translation error was never corrected in reprints. The error was made by translators in London operating under English law, and was mistranslated in error, or was possibly translated to suit their needs to convey a different meaning to Vattel to the English only reader . In French, as a noun, native is rendered as “originaire” or “indigene”, not as “naturel”. For “naturel” to mean native would need to be used as an adjective. In fact when Vattel defines “natural born citizens” in the second sentence of section 212 after defining general or ordinary citizens in the first sentence, you see that he uses the word “indigenes” for natives along with “Les naturels” in that sentence. He used the word “naturels” to emphasize clearly who he was defining as those who were born in the country of two citizens of the country. Also, when we read Vattel, we must understand that Vattel’s use of the word “natives” in 1758 is not to be read with modern day various alternative usages of that word. You must read it in the full context of sentence 2 of section 212 to fully understand what Vattel was defining from natural law, i.e., natural born citizenship of a country….Vattel makes it quite clear he is not speaking of natives in this context as someone simply born in a country, but of natural born citizens, those born in the country of two citizens of the country.”

  27. Dave B. says:

He copied all that anyway. But he’s not limiting himself to French lessons. He’s uncovered a whole new conspiracy, which I think may be original. He said,

“U.S. Code and Code[s] of Federal Regulations is being DELETED through backdoor legislation, making it more accommodating for a Foreign Leader.”

So I asked about that, and he explained,

“I’m seeing a lot of REPEALED on things regarding immigration for one. Conspiracy theory? Maybe, but I find it interesting that 8 USC Ch.11 NATIONALITY has para 501-504 DEFINITIONS-REPEALED; para. 601-605 Nationality at Birth-REPEALED; for one example. The question is WHY? As this is SUPPOSED to be the MOST TRANSPARENT Government in history, seems like some clandestine deals are going down to nullify our Laws since 2006.”

I then pointed out that 8 USC Ch. 11 was the Nationality Act of 1940, which was repealed and superseded over six decades ago by the Immigration and Nationality Act of 1952, which wasn’t exactly some mysterious “backdoor legislation.” I even provided a link to the superseded law. I realize now that I probably had it in my power to launch a grand hoax and just didn’t recognize the opportunity.

Lupin: I would go there & reply, but you need to register to do so and I lack the motivation.

There seem to be a lot more conspiracy theories attached to laws and lawmaking than one would expect, mostly because in many cases the law itself contradicts the conspiracy believers and therefore is fair game to them.

One undying meme in my country is the claim that because the introductory laws for many of our basic laws (the Civil Code, the Criminal Code, the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure ect.) have been repealed, the laws they were introducing have thereby been repealed as well (some even claim “retroactively”), therefore there is no legal basis for traffic tickets or taxes anymore (sound familiar?).

It’s basically crackpot handwaving that occasionally fools some simple-minded people (but its core intention isn’t just general crackpottery but the attempt to lure people into more legal theories from the same source which always turns out to be ultra right wingers).

That said, IMNSHO the interpretation of the First Amendment has led into the wrong direction. This could be different. Every one agrees that calling “FIRE” in a cinema is not protected speech. So other utterings could be considered not protected, when they are as dangerous to society as the one mentioned.

I went over to check it out and went down the wormhole. I haven’t had a good birther-debunking thread for what seems like forever! Thanks! (Posting over there as YouAreJoking, as Disquis somehow won’t let me use my regular handle.)

I wonder when they will find out that Ted Cruz is the ultimate Manchurian. His real father is: EL FIDEL!

Doc, is there a reason I can’t post in the thread with Mr. Bickel’s comment (Rasmussen topic)? Tried 3 times, from PC and iPad, none seem to work.

  51. Dunno.

Was bored and attempted to classify the most recent BR post (http://www.birtherreport.com/2014/07/wobc-two-obama-id-fraud-announcements.html, 257 comments at the time of this writing) according to subjects discussed (one posting may trigger more than one issue).
    Top ones were:

    Miki Booth: 15 posts
    Communism: 14 posts
    Any day now: 12 posts
    Nancy Ruth Owens: 9 posts
    Sandy Hook: 9 posts
    NWO: 9 posts
    Disappointment: 8 posts
    Muslim stuff: 8 posts
    Obama does drugs: 8 posts
    Gay stuff: 7 posts

The good Doc only gets 5 mentions, just like general coprolalia and “Obama has ADIS”, trailing “Arpaio” and “RINO”.

  54. Bonsall Obot says:

I hope I never get that bored.

  55. Dave says:

At this moment, the front page of Taitz’s website has zero posts about any birther anything.

Sooner or later, I’ll just have to accept that the birthers have lost interest in their own subject, and further entertainment will not be forthcoming.

  56. The Magic M (not logged in) says:

Bonsall Obot: hope I never get that bored.

My theory was that “teh gay” and references to feces and gerbils would top the list, kinda surprised how bad those subjects actually fared. Then again, if you add “Obama has AIDS” and “Michelle is a man” to the gay posts, you’d have a new #1.

I enjoyed your analysis. If you’ve got a little more free time, I’d be interested in seeing a comparison between comments from a recent article versus those from, say, three years ago. I think it would reveal just how decadent birthers have become.

  60. Lupin says:

Another great one from the Birdbrain:

In my opinion – Obama is every psych-ops, conspiracy theory, false flag and high-crime rolled into one. And he’s willing to tell you about it all the time. That’s what makes him especially deranged and dangerous. Imagine the amount of lying, traitorous actions, malevolent psychosis, and evil that went into creating this monster. This didn’t simply happen because the stars aligned and a load of crap descended upon the earth. This was a malicious conspiracy to over-throw America and enslave the world. Remember, Reagan warned that all that stands between evil and an elite takeover were the American citizens.

The elites got ballsy, greedy and thirsty for their new world order and slammed this piece of shit on the world. There’ll be a day in the not too distant future when the entire scheme will be exposed for all the world to see. Mark it.

At this point, the Marvel Universe makes more sense than what Falcon sees when he looks outside his window.

  61. Arthur says:

Lupin (quoting bird boy): There’ll be a day in the not too distant future when the entire scheme will be exposed for all the world to see. Mark it.

Mark it? Since before the 2012 election, every one of that idiot’s predictions have failed. He’s got less credibility than Bill Kristol.

  62. Bonsall Obot says:

The Amazing Criswell’s predictions were more accurate than anything that came out of birtherstan.

  64. Dave says:

Taitz has a new post entitled “Wikipedia essay on Orly Taitz is being changed by a person within US Congress using @congressedits IP. U.S. Congress criminialized from modifying Wikipedia after workforce held trolling.”

By which she means, somebody using a computer at the House offices edited her Wikipedia entry. I have checked into this — it is absolutely true — and in the process I discovered many things, nothing of the slightest importance but all of it entertaining.

The source Taitz quotes is TodayNews Time and the article begins:

Wikipedia has been pressured to anathema business inside of a us Congress constructing from origination edits to a collaborative encyclopaedia, after during a slightest one member of staff began trolling a website.
various edits, it sounds as if done in jest, had been picked adult around the programmed chatter bot Congress Edits, that screens Wikipedia for changes to a site done with a assist of income due with IP addresses entrance from inside of america legislature.

And it just goes on like that. I have never heard of TodayNews Time before, but it is henceforth going to be my primary source of news.

If I have deciphered it correctly, the story is that somebody set up a bot that checks every edit to Wikipedia to see if the IP address maps to the House or Senate, and if so, issues a tweet from @congressedits. And one such tweet today resulted from somebody editing the Wikipedia article of noted attorney/dentist/real estate agent Orly Taitz.

So I took a look at the edit history of that article, and indeed, there is an edit, and the IP address does map to house.gov. And, having caught them red-handed, I can tell you exactly what 1984-ish revision of history some House minion was attempting to perpetrate on the world. The edit was to this part:

“When Taitz accused the commission of a cover-up, Dan Dumezich, the Merrillville Republican who is chairman of the commission, told her that if she was disrespectful one more time, ‘your butt is going to be gone.'”

And our mysterious Congressional editor changed “Merrillville” to “Schererville.”

That’s it. That’s what Taitz is making a fuss about.

  65. Bonsall Obot says:

I can’t tell whether my reading of that paragraph of “news” was the result of some brain damage, or the cause of some brain damage. Either way, as soon as I recover, someone’s gonna get sued.

  66. Andrew Vrba, PmG says:

I deem Birther Report unworthy of any future visits, at least by me. Nothing new there, just the same old immature name calling, and poorly photoshopped silliness. I can get much superior versions of both of those things at Cracked or b3ta.

  67. RanTalbott says:

Lupin: Remember, Reagan warned that all that stands between evil and an elite takeover were the American citizens.

Perhaps time has dimmed my memory of some specific statement, but I’m fairly certain, on general principles, that Birdboy is wrong about Reagan saying that American citizens are protecting evil from being taken over by the elites. Or are protecting an elite takeover from evil (although I believe there is an argument to be made that there is some kernel of truth in the latter, I don’t see Reagan sounding the alarm about it).

  68. Sounds like someone on Dan Dumezich’s staff searching for references to him.

I edit the Taitz Wikipedia entry from time to time, but I have too much respect for the Wikipedia to try to do anything the least improper or biased.

Dave: And our mysterious Congressional editor changed “Merrillville” to “Schererville.”

That’s it. That’s what Taitz is making a fuss about.

  69. Andrew Vrba, PmG says:

I am somewhat tempted to cook up an Uncyclopedia page for Taitz.
For those who aren’t aware, Uncyclopedia is a parody of Wikipedia, full of mostly funny purposefully inaccurate data. Stuff like this entry from the page on Missouri“Ever since the dawn of Missouri its inhabitants have been actively obsessed with fire. Fredericktown Missouri Middle School was burnt down by 3 learning disabled bears in late April of 2010, resulting in students having to go to a church for “school” and definitely not the indoctrination to overthrow Obama Administration.”

  70. RanTalbott says:

Dave: And our mysterious Congressional editor changed “Merrillville” to “Schererville.”

Well, it could be nefarious: perhaps some Congresscritter who represents one town, but not the other, wanted to (not) be associated with the statement.

I think Boehner needs to empanel a Select Committee to settle this Extremely Important Matter™ by identifying Mr. Dumezich’s true residence, and determining whether it lies inside, or outside, the boundaries of the district of the Honorable Member whose office made the change.

Orly should encourage this, as it might be her only chance ever to get (the equivalent of) discovery.

There was nothing improper about that edit. Dan Dumezich is from Schererville, not Merrillville.

Of course not. Orly Taitz is a dog who barks at anything.

  74. Dave says:

I would bet my bottom dollar that Taitz doesn’t know or care what the edit was. It’s just one more excuse to clutch her tin-foil hat.

  75. Arthur says:

Well what do you know, Rudy “Lonestar1776” Davis and his wife were part of an open carry event at Dealey Plaza. You can watch Rudy’s video of the event here:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UTrgVAVtaxw&feature=youtu.be

and read an article about it here: http://www.salon.com/2014/07/24/texas_gun_nuts_scary_ritual_how_hatred_of_a_president_turned_profane/

Rudy was passing out anti-Obama, pro-birther crap in addition to parading his stand-in penis. The Salon article sums up the inherent violence and brutality of what Rudy was up to:

“On the 50th anniversary of the assassination, historian Darwin Payne, who was a journalist in Dallas in 1963, said, ‘You could feel it in the air. When I hear some people express hatred for Obama, it feels the same. But I never have felt we are on the verge of anything like the events I witnessed back then.’ Let’s hope he’s right. There are a whole lot of people with a political ax to grind who are wandering around our streets armed to the teeth. As Mrs. Doyle said in her letter, “These people are crazy, or crazed, and I’m sure that we must realize that their actions in the future are unpredictable.”

  78. Andrew Vrba, PmG says:

There is a phenomenon called “Network Decay”. Its what happens when a niche channel either partially or completely stops airing the programming that is the cornerstone of it’s founding concept. MTV is no longer about the music, History Channel is fast departing from historical programming, etc.

I bring this up, because you see it happening to a lot of birther sites these days.
For instance, LDS’s blog has gone from “Obama was born in Kenya, and I have the proof!” to strange misadventures involving bogus extraditions, and fantasy manhunts.

  79. Rickey says:

That’s interesting. I looked at the History Channel’s programming for the next 48 hours and I found just two hours of historical programming – “Civil War Journal” and “The Real West.” It should be renamed The Pawn Shop Channel.

  80. Bonsall Obot says:

TLC lost me at Extreme Dwarf Hoarders.

  81. Dave says:

The difference is, network decay occurs because the network realizes it can appeal to more viewers and make more money by not being a niche channel. Birthers aren’t trying to increase market share, they are branching out because they’ve run out of things to say.

  82. Andrew Vrba, PmG says:

Ex-Col. Sellin is at it again:

    http://www.familysecuritymatters.org/publications/detail/dare-one-call-it-treason

A comment in which I asked if he still lived in that “socialist paradise Helsinki” was deleted by the site moderator in, I kid you not, less than two minutes!

The same comment never appeared on BR which crossposted the Sellin article.

It’s amazing that they are SO afraid of any dissenting whisper.

  84. Lupin says:

I should add that I think Sellin is a traitor which should be dragged before a US court and tried.

  85. Andrew Vrba, PmG says:

Treason. Birthers use that word a lot, but I do not thing it means what they think it means.
As best I can tell, “Treason” in the Birther/RWNJ dictionary means something like “Any action that does not fall in line with conservative interests.”

  86. donna says:

this may seem obvious to all here but the article contains documented quotes:

Wanna Know Why Republicans Can’t Give Up Calling Obama ‘Not American’? They’ve Got Nothing Else.

it ends with: The question remains: Why do Republicans come back, over and over, to this kind of thing, to peddling a cocktail of fear mixed with hate? They’ve got nothing else. They can’t sell their right-wing policies as actually working because there’s no data to back that up. They can’t even sell their policies as logical because, well, they aren’t.

So what can Republicans do? Get people afraid. Afraid of “them,” the brown president and the brown hordes at the border. In reality the people at the border are refugees and children. To Republicans, that doesn’t matter and it certainly doesn’t inspire compassion. Steve King’s anti-immigration ally Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) has been harping about the supposed “diseases” these children are carrying.

This is all about fear, about making people afraid of what America is becoming, of what America already is. Republicans are counting on the fact that fear makes people do stupid things. Like voting Republican.
