Filmmaker Dinesh D’Souza received his sentence for violating election laws, says Reuters today. The judge, after viewing post-conviction videos of D’Souza, rejected his claims of remorse, saying:
And it is still hard for me to discern any personal acceptance of responsibility in this case.
Reuters details the sentence:
D’Souza, 53, was ordered by U.S. District Judge Richard Berman in Manhattan to live [8 months] in [a confinement] center at the start of a five year probationary period in which he must do one day of community service a week. He must also pay a $30,000 fine and undergo weekly therapy.
D’Souza is of interest on this blog because of his smear book and film about Barack Obama, The Roots of Obama’s Rage and Obama’s America: Unmaking the American Dream respectively. He was born in India and became a naturalized US Citizen in 1991, serving as an advisor to Ronald Reagan.
D’Souza says he is not a birther.

This is a great day for those of us who enjoy giggling at Birther/RWNJ misery.
My personal favorite part was the judge reading from a letter written to him by d’Souza’s ex-wife, Dixie. She said he had a “flawed character and lack of truthfulness” and she accused him of physically abusing her.”
So in Birferspeak, he will live in a FEMA camp, forced to be a community organizer. *lol*
That’s actually pretty accurate. He’s not sorry for what he did, he’s just sorry that he got caught.
