Scrounging for something to write about lead me to Montgomery Blair Sibley’s blog, and a February 27th article titled, “Request for Grand Jury Investigation into the Legitimacy of Obama’s Identity Documents.” In the brief article, Sibley says that he is done with the courts on this topic; however, he refers to his Open Letter, and in that letter he urges readers to download a 32-page document, print it in color, and send it to “your local county Grand Jury.” I guess we will have to add Sibley’s “Grand Jury Kit” to Mike Volin’s Sheriff’s kit.
The document itself (apparently from Douglas Vogt and Paul Irey) is mostly about typewriting, expressing the opinions of people who are not a qualified experts on the subject, based on no recognized methodology. Certainly Vogt, who is in the scanner business, ought to know that some scanners create halos. In essence the grand jury document argues that ignorance on the writers’ part implies forgery on Obama’s part.
I look forward to the day when the President is impeached for being opposed by idiots.

Sibley being disingenuous is just one of those things you come to expect from him. Declaring on one hand that he is done with the courts, and then producing 32 pages of intense drivel he expects everyone else to peddle for him, to the grand juries he says. Truly vintage Sibley drivel. I think it is true that(all) most of it was cribbed from Vogt who is a fiction writer in his own right, and both of them equally shoddy, overly verbose, and poorly or not at all researched. Basically it is the same pig dressed up in almost the same outfit still waiting to be taken to the dance that will never happen
Looking at Silbley’s document it is apparent that he is missing what is right in front of him. For if he wasn’t he would not have spent the time creating the document.

As I understand, that was already tried back in 2012 in the county where Arpaio is sheriff. It was reported the effort was rejected by the Maricopa County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office after the “evydunce” was reviewed.
What plan comes next Mr. Sibley?

Of course, Sibley’s big problem here is that the County Grand Jury is subject to the same jurisdictional constraints as the local Sheriff or County Prosecutor. That is, unless the crime is alleged to have been committed within the county represented by any one Grand Jury, it simply has no authority.
Moreover, in the completely unlikely event that a Grand Jury somewhere actually issued an indictment, its reach of authority wouldn’t extend beyond the limits of its County. An order for extradition would go absolutely nowhere. The exercise would be totally useless.
But then the term “useless” is an apt description of all birthers.
Does the kit says “ACME CORPORATION” on it? It sounds like an ACME product.
I’ve read a lot of Sibley’s recent-ish blog entries. He seems so disconnected from reality, that I’m not certain this “Grand Jury Kit” is mean for anyone on this planet.
SIbley has moved on to the Con Con (Constitutional Convention) movement. This is the movement to get 2/3rds of the states to call for a new constitutional convention. He claims 35 state legislatures have called for such a convention. I believe his count is off. I think several state have rescinded the acts and a number have passed limited resolutions calling for a balanced budget amendment under provisions in Article V. I think even the activists in this movement concede they do not have the required number necessary.
In other words: “The Constitution that we claim to love and cherish so much, doesn’t say what we want it to! Lets change it!”. Is that the long and short of it?
I was curious about where I would send Sibley’s “Grand Jury Kit” because I’m not sure that Dutchess County currently has a grand jury empaneled. However, I found that we do have a “Dutchess County Common Law Grand Jury” which apparently is the creation of something called the National Liberty Alliance.
Look at Rick Perry’s book which suggested 7 Constitutional changes such as eliminating direct election of Senators.
A Constitutional convention is not limited in what it proposes no matter what the call to the convention suggests. One can imagine that a new Constitutional convention may well require a balanced budget, ban gay marriage and abortion, and repeal the income tax. This week, I would guess a convention might bar treaties with Iran.
I think that is the perfect place to send it. 😆

Indeed it is precisely this fear of a “runaway Convention” that forced Congress to propose what became the 19th Amendment – Women’s Suffrage.
The numbers were getting very close to calling for a Convention – Congress jumped first.
They’re hell-bent on finding a way to redistrict and gerrymander Senatorial elections.
Remember, this is the same Sibley of Sibley’s judicial worm, that alone speaks volumes about the man and his “ideals”.
There is a case pending before the Supreme Court arguing that only the actual state legislature can re-district Congressional seats, based upon the language of the Constitution.
Senate elections cannot be gerrymandered any more than by giving Wyoming two seats and California two seats. The Republicans, despite controlling a majority in the Senate, represent less than a majority of the population. I believe, but am not certain, that in the last House (not the present one) the Democrat minority received more votes than the Republican majority. One of Gov. Perry’s proposal was to repeal direct election of senators.
Our friend, ObligedRacist, would likely urge that voting be limited to white Anglo-Saxon male landowners. Whether that includes Irish like me is unknown. He for sure would not let Pres. Obama vote.

That’s our state legislature here in Arizona. If the legislature can draw district lines to pack the legislature with one party over the other, and that legislature can then choose the state’s Senators, they’ve effectively gerrymandered the Senate elections.
You don’t hear as much about wanting to abolish the electoral college anymore as you do about wanting to change how states choose electors, either. Why do away with something that could be manipulated to advantage by the party in power?
