Obama resists calls for him to remain in office

Birthers have long predicted that Barack Obama would pull some stunt to remain in office following his elected term as president. Some have claimed he was planning a mock invasion of the US over the Mexican border through tunnels connecting abandoned Walmart stores. ISIS camps were just over the border. Some thought he would unleash Ebola to create the crisis.

The “sell by” date on those conspiracy theories is rapidly approaching, and the expired and unwanted product will be thrown into the dumpster of history.

Last night, President Obama gave what was billed as his “Farewell Address” in Chicago. The partisan crowd at one point started chanting “FOUR MORE YEARS.” The President responded:

I can’t do that

Of course he can’t. For all the birther name calling: traitor, usurper, hater of America, our President does believe in the Constitution and for better or worse, he will leave office at noon on January 20.

According to my Magic 8 Ball, all signs point to “worse.”

On the ride in to work this morning, I was listening to NPR and heard Trump refer to Jefferson Beauregard Sessions* as an outstanding prosecutor. Now, you may be thinking, if Trump says it, it must be untrue. And of course, you’d be right:

“The court finds that even having been given every benefit of the doubt, the misconduct of the Attorney General in this case far surpasses in both extensiveness and measure the totality of any prosecutorial misconduct ever previously presented to or witnessed by this court,”
~James S. Garrett, a Jefferson County, Alabama Circuit Court judge.

*He was named for Jefferson Davis, President of the Confederate States of America, and P.G.T. Beauregard, a general in the Confederate Army. Ironically, after the Civil War, Beauregard was known to speak out in favor of civil rights, including voting rights, for African Americans.

Yes, just like George W. Bush, Barack Obama is not in fact going to stage a false flag attack and declare martial law. Or marshal law, come to that (sorry, I really couldn’t resist). The idea that Obama would do for real what all the conspiracy theorists were speculating Bush would do is just excessively ridiculous. On the plus side, I have yet to find anyone saying that “Trump is the false flag” the way someone assured me Obama was.

Trump wouldn’t even know how to stage one. He’s a mother f$#@ing idiot.

  4. Pete says:

When’s the usyruper going to declare marshal law and put everyone in FEMA reeducation camps?

Time’s getting short here. Did they not get all the ammunition and body bags in on time?

  5. Thomas Brown says:

He isn’t inaugurated yet. Give him time.

  6. Pastor Charmley says:

Back in 2008, after Obama’s election, there was rampant speculation that George W. Bush, the evil mastermind who staged 9/11 to allow him to take absolute power in the US, would stage another false flag attack, and Obama would never take office. The day before the inauguration, a ‘Truther’ commented on a 9/11 ‘Truther’ debunking site I followed that Bush would stage a false flag attack, and Obama would never be inaugurated. The following day I tried to hold him to it only to receive the reply, “Obama IS the false flag.” The moral of this is that a conspiracy theorist sees the world through the lens of his conspiracy theory, and the really committed ones just fit events into their conspiracy model rather than testing the model by events.

    Note to birthers: He said “I can’t”, not “I won’t”. 😀

  8. Crustacean says:

Good point! And remember, when the President does it, that means it’s not illegal. 🙂

George Will (!) called Trump a “bloviating ignoramus.”

I can’t add anything more pithy.

Trump doesn’t deserve five dollar insults. He gets the stuff that gets rolled out for the common rabble.

Drumpf is nothing more than a rabble rouser.
