The Honolulu Advertiser became a good friend of mine over the last 2 years, for its premier coverage of the local news about Conspiracy Theories surrounding Barack Obama. It was in 1961 that the Advertiser first became involved with the printing of Barack Obama ‘s birth announcement. As Barack Obama entered the national spotlight, the Honolulu Advertiser was there with in-depth articles from the Hawaiian perspective.
They closed on June 6, 2010. Back issues are available here.
The Advertiser was purchased by the Hawaii Star Bulletin and a new paper, Star Advertiser began publication yesterday, June 7.

references and evidence that Obama was born in Hawaii, like the article call: “Born identity” , explaining the birthers that the Health Dept. went paperless in 2001 and they no longer issue long forms. Of course for the birthers there’s always a conspiracy, wait

By paperless do you mean they no longer print any form of BC or COLB on paper?
Are you insinuating they issue requested birth records electronically now?
Or, perhaps you are contending that they no longer buy reams of copy paper on which they can print the long-form when it is requested….to be honest, I’m not sure what conspiracy you are alleging with your comment.
My Health Department no longer keeps the long-form in paper form, but they have not gone paperless. If you request a BC or COLB from my Health Department, they still print it out for you on paper – of course it is printed form paper. But they also buy reams of blue copy paper and will print you off a copy of your long-form from their electronic media when you ask for it. You have to ask verbally as there is no place on the form to request it.
However, since a long-form is necessary for a Passport in my state, they will still issue a long-form. My bet is – that Hawaii operates the exact same way….as do all the other 57 (according to Obama) states in the union.
And which state is that Scott Brown? For those who might be reading this and not familiar with this troll poster, the story she is telling is a fabrication that she was caught in several months back. She makes these personal claims about her life, but she can’t back them up and somehow doesn’t even know which state she was born in…so pay attention to her nonsense at your own peril, as this is only one of several lies this poster has been repeatedly caught making here. This is a poster with no credibility and known to intentionally make up false personal stories and spread false information, so “she” (and yes, “Scott Brown” is a “she”) cannot be trusted at all.

Hey, question for you, Scott Brown… when did this conversation take place…. would that be the 2008 Democratic primaries, perhaps? I thought so. Now, can you tell me how many democratic primaries there were? If you answered 57, you would be correct. Verbally? So that means one would have to physically go to the Health Department office in the state capital and request it. I don’t see how they could take such a request over the phone, since they would have no way to identify you. And what do you do if you live thousands of miles away from the state you were born in? According to you there are 2 classes of people-those who live near the capital of the state they were born in and who can get a long form relatively easily and those who don’t and can never get a passport or run for President.

“Going paperless” refers to records retention and storage, not printing. This BLOG is paperless, but that doesn’t prevent you from printing a copy of a page. However as of 2005 95% of all births in the United States were reported electronically by hospitals. The long form is going the way of all things.

So this is why people keep asking you what state you’re from. I’d gathered that you’d made a claim like this before, but I wasn’t here for that. Well, at this point all I can do is echo the question; which state is this?
With each state having its own procedures, it’s possible (as far as I know) that there’s some state that has a short form certificate that for some reason doesn’t fulfill the requirements for a passport; and also has a long form, which does fulfill those requirements, that you can only get by special request. It seems like a pretty silly way to set things up, though. Are they trying to prevent their residents from traveling by making it unnecessarily difficult, or what? If the short form is so deficient (and the requirements for what has to be on the BC to get a passport aren’t that stringent), then why offer it at all? Still, I guess you never know. Which state is it?
Maybe we can work out by process of elimination what state this is (if there is one.) I’ll start: it’s not West Virginia. My WV short form has sufficed for everything I’ve needed a birth certificate for, including getting a passport. Anyone else?
As far as the paperless thing, I assume that they mean that the records are transmitted electronically from the hospital to the state records department database, and only put onto paper when a printed certificate is needed.

Ditto for New York. The New York “short form” contains even less information than Hawaii’s, but it is all that I have ever needed.

It’s not Pennsylvania. I got my Passport with my PA short form.
And it was not New York City. For some reason in the state of NY NYC issues their own COLB’s. When I had to apply for a license in NJ and had to order mine I had to contact the city of NY. And they sent me a COLB that also had less information than Obama’s. I was able to get a US Passport and a NJ drivers license….
Let’s just say that in some states birth certificates are issued by entities other than the state, such as the county clerk in the county of birth. These have the same validity as any of the others spoken of here.

You don’t even have to go the territories route in order to show that President Obama does not believe there are 57 states. He was trying to indicate that he had visited 47 of the continental states, one more continental state left, and that he wasn’t able to visit Alaska and Hawaii (thus totaling 50 states). He simply slipped up by starting out by saying “50” right off the bat instead of forty. Link to snopes:
