This is a followup to my report on the Tim Adams radio appearance.
In an email reply, the Secretary of the City Clerk’s office for the City and County of Honolulu (the office that contains the Elections division) told me:
Our records indicate that Mr. Adams was employed in a clerical position as an Elections Clerk. Our office does not have access to birth records. Birth records are handled by the State of Hawaii, Department of Health.
Tim Adams never claimed to have access to birth records, and this confirms that he didn’t, which makes it all the more improbable that Adams knew that Barack Obama “had no long form birth certificate.”
I’m not publishing the name of the secretary who replied to me possibly to reduce the number of additional emails she gets with the same question.
I got the same response in my email, it was so easy to check. It took 2 days for my answer. Birthers blindly accept ant-Obama stories without checking. That’s how these people get and play suckers.

Tim evidently attended U of H and took a temp clerk job then in typical wingnut fashion embellished it. That’s a variation of the “Argument from Authority” that is often used by religious right and birthers. They accept and never doubt or check. The fact that Obama was voting and running for office in Chicago at the time Tim was “clerking” was left off this story Ppossibly because it would make the story look silly unless his clerking in Hawaii led to acces to Chicago voting records (Really, Really Silly)

What the State of Hawaii ought to do here is have high-level people in the office that actually holds the birth records-the Department of Health, not the City Clerk’s office-go and check the records. Then, they could announce that they have the records and that the records show that Barack Obama was indeed born in Hawaii. That would carry much more weight than some guy in an office that doesn’t even have birth records.

Tim Adam’s story is gaining credibility but Tim has to provide more information on how he or the office know the Obama has no long-form BC or was not born there. While to seems to indicate that Tim would not be privy to that information, Tim and the office said they know. I certainly would like to know more.
But I think Tim’s story definitely has merit.
In borrowing Phil Berg’s famous line:
If Obama really has a long-form Birth Certificate WE WOULD HAVE SEEN BY NOW.
If what Tim says is true, then the State of Hawaii is lying and a lot of questions are answered and posed.
– If Obama has no long-form BC then what exactly are Obama’s “original” vital records.
– If Obama really has a long-form BC we would have seen it by now.
– We definitely see evidence where the government official of Hawaii are attempting cover for Obama.
– Lingle’s recent statement about Obama being born in a hospital – Completely false.
– Dr. Fukino’s (DOH) strong support to to pass the vex law.
Finally, Tim Adams should certainly be vetted by birther attorneys. Tim’s testimony could cause the Prima Facie evidence of the COLB to fall along with all of the mountain of evidence against Obama.

Let us check the facts. There are some people who are honestly suggesting that the word of an election clerk should be taken over the director of health records. Honestly, Adams does access to any birth record let alone the voter registration outside of Hawaii.
These people are utterly silly in their logic. However, their are a lot of people this silly.
Even if Adams did have access it would have been illegal for him to access Obama’s without cause. It would be like the IRS officials who got caught looking into personal tax records of celebrities

I have never seen my long-form birth certificate. Does this mean that I should assume that one is not on file in the place where I was born?
Mr Adams never claimed that he had access to Obama’s birth records and the office where he worked has explicitly said that they did not have access. Nobody from Mr Adams’ former place of work has said anything that would confirm that his opinion.
Mr Adams states that his views about Obama’s birth records are opinion. He describes this as a professional opinion, but he has not shown any credentials that suggest that any court would recognise him as an expert witness. Though it has been confirmed that he worked in a clerical role for the elections office, there is not any confirmation that he held a senior role. Even if he were an expert able to render a professional opinion, his opinion would lack any credibility in the absence of any explanation as to the basis for that opinion.

Thank you for the Email. Actually I believe God has a sense of humor, because I thought these notions were pretty well common and not very important. I was actually just in Nashville, observing a conservative political conference, I’m not a member of any kind of group, and too liberal for these guys, when James Edwards, the host of the Political Cesspool, heard about me from someone and asked if I would simply state what I had observed and been told while working in Hawaii. I believe Pres. Obama was born a United States citizen, and is eligible to hold office, I find the idea that because he was probably born outside of the U.S., he must be some kind of alien to be basically racist. I do think we should close this issue and pass legislation requiring office seekers to prove identity before running for elected office.

So basically this is office scuttlebutt from an office with no access to the relevant records which the person who repeated it doesn’t believe. Wow! That’s some kind of smoking gun… I find the selective credulity of the birther movement to be absolutely amazing. I’ll second Mr. Adams suggestion that we should close the issue and pass legislation requiring proof of eligibility (if such legislation were in place in 2008, I wonder what the birthers would have been complaining about…).

“Birtherism” exists because of people who want to find any reason to dismiss an election lose. So, if there were any additional laws birthers will still be rambling about the same disproved fabrications. Even now they ignore any federal laws on citizenship and even make things up.

KNOXVILLE – A Georgia militiaman pleaded not guilty this morning to federal charges of ferrying guns and ammunition across state lines with the purpose of inciting riotous violence.
U.S. Magistrate Judge Bruce Guyton released Darren Westly Huff on his recognizance with several conditions during an arraignment.
Guyton set trial for Aug. 2 trial.
Huff, according to a federal complaint, vowed to seize control of the tiny town of Sweetwater and round up the traitors blocking the indictment of President Barack Obama for his treasonous turn as commander-in-chief.
Huff revealed the plean to a slew of people, from a bank manager in his hometown to the FBI to Tennessee Highway Patrol troopers to a talk-radio audience, according to the charges.
The man who Huff said inspired him to act – Monroe County resident and “sworn Obama enemy” Walter Fitzpatrick – also faces indictment in state court.
The case is outlined in a criminal complaint filed by FBI Agent Mark Van Balen days after the planned April showdown.
It all started last year when Fitzpatrick, a retired military man whose beef with the government goes back two decades when he faced a court-martial, tried to get a Monroe County grand jury to indict Obama for treason. The grounds? Obama, Fitzpatrick contended, was not really born in the U.S.
When the grand jury refused to consider the case, Fitzpatrick began issuing a series of “complaints,” naming some two dozen federal, state and local officials, all of whom he accused of misconduct for failing to arrest, charge or remove the president from office.
He and fellow “birthers” showed up in early April at the Monroe County Courthouse to begin effecting his own “citizen’s arrests” when, according to the FBI complaint, he wound up arrested instead on charges that include inciting a riot.
The FBI alleges Huff, a Dalton, Ga., man who claims membership in a militia, decided to join Fitzpatrick’s cause and told anyone who would listen – including FBI agents – that he and fellow militiamen intended to show up at Fitzpatrick’s April 20 preliminary hearing to seize the town if necessary to free Fitzpatrick and help him carry out his citizen’s arrests.
Huff traveled from Georgia to Sweetwater with a gun on his hip, two more handguns and an AK-47 assault rifle in his truck, the complaint states. When a state trooper stopped it on traffic violations, Huff, who had a concealed carry permit, again detailed the plan, Van Balen wrote.
“Huff said he was ready to die for his rights,” the agent wrote. “Huff (said) that if necessary, they would come back and have a lot more armed people to take over the courthouse and effect all the arrests.”
When Huff and an estimated 20 others actually showed up at the courthouse, they were vastly outnumbered by law enforcers from federal, state and local agencies, the complaint stated. The courthouse had been effectively shut down, with workers told to stay home, and Fitzpatrick’s hearing cancelled. Still, the agent wrote, Huff and others prowled the streets with guns visible.
The FBI, which had been tracking Huff throughout his travels, waited until Huff described his actions on a talk radio show and then arrested him on charges of carrying firearms across the state lines with the intent to incite a riot. Huff is free under terms of house arrest.
The Monroe County grand jury met last week to consider the case against Fitzpatrick. The results haven’t been announced yet.

In June 2008 the first version of Obama’s COLB was published on Daily Kos web site. The image does not show the state seal.
It took Obama campaign two months to create a version 2.0 (the one posted on factcheck web site).

The simple and obvious answer is that the Daily KOS birth certificate image DOES have the embossed seal from the State of Hawaii–you just have to look really hard to see it because the dead-on lighting from a scanner doesn’t cast much of a shadow to highlight the colorless embossing.

There is no State Seal visible in the first version of the COLB posted on Daily Kos on June 12, 2008.
That was one of the points made in the comments section on that site just hours after the image was posted. The fact that comments were turned off shortly after this was pointed out tells me that the campaign handlers were aware of the issues with the first image.
You would assume that a competent campaign would immediately produce a good scan of the original image if they had it available. They did not have anything better for two more months.

This bozo is clearly lying. According to his supervisor, he was employed as a clerk, not a senior clerk as he claims. Adams’s supervisor doesn’t even have access to Hawaii’s birth records that Adams claims he had access to; in fact, the supervisor said, “WE don’t have access to those records,” and that includes himself. If the supervisor doesn’t have access to the birth records, then those under him cannot. So, Adams is clearly lying about this.
Adams is apparently claiming that someone told his supervisor in an email OR a telephone call that there are no hospital records for Obama having been born there. Well, which is it? An email or a telephone call? If he doesn’t know, then the hospital never gave him this information. He said that the information he’s repeating was in an email or telephone call TO, presumably, HIS SUPERVISOR, and this means that the supervisor must have told him this, and he is just repeating what someone else told him; in every court of law in this land, that’s HEARSAY. He has no independent knowledge that anyone ever gave anyone this information other than what someone else told him, and no one even knows who that someone was. No one has come forth saying that he or she gave Adams this information, and I seriously doubt that it was the individual in Hawaii’s elections office whose name has been associated with this story. Moreover, he has never said who it was who gave him this information.
The final nail in his coffin is that he never says that he checked the health department’s database for Obama’s birth information. As I said before, if his supervisor doesn’t have access to it, he couldn’t have access to it, and he never claimed he did. Those birth records are secured and cannot be accessed by just anyone who works for the State of Hawaii; there is a limited number of government workers who can legally access them. Anyone else who wants to see them must submit an application to the Health Department so that it can be determined if that person has a legal right to see them. The Governor of Hawaii, Linda Lingle, had to ask the director of the Health Department to check Mr. Obama’s records due to the fact that EVEN SHE DOES NOT HAVE ACCESS TO THOSE RECORDS. And if the governor cannot access them, then someone of Adams’s lowly stature in the state government would not have access to them either.

And there is one additional problematic point about Adams’s already problem-ridden claims. Adams claims in his TV interview that the hospital told someone, allegedly his “supervisor”, that they do not have a “long form” for President Obama. Well, duh. This claim is ridiculous for several reasons. First of all, Hawaii has explicitly said that they no longer give out a “long form” and haven’t since 2001. Secondly, hospitals don’t keep birth certificates since they are not a secure location and cannot guarantee the security of that kind of information. That information is protected by state and federal law, and they don’t go leaving it where any Tom, Dick, or Harry can access it through a non-secured location, like a hospital. Finally, hospitals do not have the authority to provide someone with a certified, legal copy of a birth certificate. If anyone anywhere in the USA goes to the hospital where he or she was born and asks for a copy of his or her birth certificate, the hospital will tell them that they do not have them and that they must go to the proper legal authorities to obtain one. Adams is giving out information that is routine while trying to spin it in a suspicious light.
The hospital said they don’t have a “long form” for Mr. Obama, Mr. Adams? Well, if that’s what they really did say, it’s not surprising since HAWAIIAN HOSPITALS DON’T HAVE A “LONG FORM” FOR ANYONE. WHO WAS BORN IN HAWAII, AND THAT INCLUDES THE PRESIDENT.
