WND scrubbs article on Obama / Kagan

Not a photo WND would use

I continue be amazed. I thought here was noting bad about President Obama that WorldNetDaily wouldn’t say and keep saying in the face of overwhelming evidence to the contrary. (A certain travel ban to Pakistan comes to mind.) I was wrong.

An August 4 WND article under the byline of Joe Kovacs, WND executive news director,  titled “Just lovely: Look who’s tied to Obama’s birth certificate” showed a screen shot of what it called 5  cases “challenging President Obama’s constitutional eligibility for office” which he said were handled for the government by Supreme Court nominee Elana Kagan.

Kovacs wrote:

A simple search of the high court’s own website reveals Kagan’s name coming up at least nine times on dockets involving Obama eligibility issues.

It was a lie made up out of whole cloth. None of those cases had the slightest thing to do with Obama eligibility. After a major outcry among people who are able to read, the article was scrubbed (more precisely replaced) and in a rare display of something not entirely unlike candor, WND wrote:

Editor’s Note: An earlier version of this story incorrectly described a series of cases for which Elena Kagan represented the government as eligibility cases. Those cases, in fact, were a series of unrelated disputes pending before the Supreme Court and the references have been removed from this report.

It’s one thing to correct the record. It’s another thing to publish on a major web site something that is completely fraudulent on its face. Joe Kovacs is not some “guest commentator;” he is the “executive news editor” for WorldNetDaily. Here’s the original version titled “Kagan linked to Obama birth certificate | Just Lovely: Look who’s tied to Obama’s birth certificate”. They not only corrected the story, they gave it a completely new title and a new spin. How many other brazen lies has Joe Kovacs published on WorldNetDaily?

Kovac's next writing assignment for WND

Not to carry the “do the right thing” too far, WND continues it smear campaign with the latest vomitus article: Watchdog: We’ll seek Kagan’s disbarment and impeachment. On recalls that WND published an article back in October of 2009 titled, “Is it time to whisper the word ‘impeachment’?” that said:

The key phrase here is “high crimes and misdemeanors,” a concept in English common law well-known to our Founding Fathers, but grossly misunderstood in this day and age. “High crimes and misdemeanors” essentially means bad behavior.

    Another loser is heard from.

If memory serves, Klayman either quit or was kicked out of Judicial Watch, got booted out of a Republican primary, and is now suing his erstwhile hunchback Tom Fitton.

The reason he began his vendetta is because he is a sore loser. In 1992 in California, he lost a patent case on behalf of a distributor of bathroom accessories. His obnoxious behavior got him barred from Judge Keller’s courtroom for life. Klayman has hounded Keller ever since.

After losing his appeal and being scolded by the appeals court judges, he tried to appeal to the Supreme Court. He has said in interviews that it is that which led him to found Judicial Watch in 1994.

He is a loser and a nut.

  2. HORUS says:

“On behalf of Freedom Watch and Declaration Alliance, and as a member of the U.S. Supreme Court bar, I hereby file a complaint to disbar Elena Kagan from practice before the U.S. Supreme Court and for referral to the U.S. Department of Justice for criminal investigation and for obstruction of justice,” wrote Larry Klayman, president of Freedom Watch.

If they do this, then by all means we should do the same to Scalia, Roberts and Alito!

  3. Dr. Kenneth Noisewater (Bob Ross) says:

Doc that’s par for the course for WND. I have mentioned in the past during the whole Terri Schiavo episode WND made up a story about another case saying oh this person is being starved to death, this person is having their feeding tube removed, etc. It was a BS story and was more of a custody battle between the son, who never took care of his dying mom and a granddaughter who was there taking care of her the whole time, feeding her when she could eat, etc. Instead of printing a retraction, they changed the headline and put a spin on the story.

WND’s journalistic integrity is on display in that article too. It’s about Larry Klayman, but Klayman is a regular columnist for WND and is currently representing WND in a lawsuit. Yet nothing Bob Unruh’s article even hints that Klayman has legal and business relationships with WND.

  5. misha says:

I mentioned this before: Larry Klayman is less than a shonde. He is certifiably insane, and he actually sued his mother, and took it to trial. He proves evolution, and in his case he’s at the level of wolves. I don’t mean to insult wolves; I just wouldn’t have a wolf practicing law. Just like I wouldn’t have Shrub writing a book about metaphysics.

Every time I read about some neocon, I wish we had excommunication.

I think we are catching on to the fact that when World Net Daily publishes a story one best capture a copy because what is there now may not be tomorrow or the next day. Great job, Dr. C. :applause:

As a side note, In the early 60’s, I** was helping to train a friend for a Karate tournament, his opponet was Norris, who I met during the tournament. Norris asked me to give in to Jesus. Turns out he, like Huckabee, is a young earth bible thumper. He’s into the 6000 year old earth, dinosaurs walked with man and Noah’s flood created the Grand Canyon. I told him the early Egyptian tombs were made of clay and many are still standing. (the flood would have washed them away, but this had no effect on him and his bible)

** I had a black belt as my friend did, as for that tournament, my friend lost.

It’s strange that these bible thumpers are mostly right wingers (or Whiners), yet Jesus and his teachings and his actions were mostly liberal. Conservapedia.com wants to rewrite the bible and eliminate the “liberal” parts. (wonder how that’s going)

Yep. They can rewrite the Bible. As they want to remove, don’t lie, charity, compassion, and other good values. It makes it easier for them to lie, spread fear, and those other bad values.

  15. Expelliarmus says:

    From the WaPo article:

Many of their inquiries pursue “birth index data,” which includes a list of names of all people born in the state. Obama’s name is included among those born in Honolulu in 1961, according to the state….

In response, the Department of Health has offered to provide hundreds of sheets of index data if requesters will pay for it. At 25 cents per page, the 1961 birth index data would cost $98.75. So far, no one has paid for the papers.

So basically, the birthers aren’t even willing to put up $100 to get a copy of the data they think is so darn important.

Then they would have to spend some of that Paypal money on something other than hookers and meth. Plus it is information that disproves their BS, so they would rather ignore it and pretend it doesn’t exist.

It’s even funnier when the grifters at WND sell seeds at inflated prices, and for only $30, WND will send a fax to the White House, in your name. Don’t forget all those articles by Joe Kovacs about the miracle of Creation.

Isn’t also the case that you would have to go to Hawaii to obtain this data? What a shame. Andy Martin was visiting there when he had his Boycott Hawaii campaign in full swing and didn’t stop by and plunk down the cash.

Is almost 400 pages of documentation is to much work for the average birther to sift through? Lakin has much time on hand they could sent it to him. That is the least that he can do, as they are supposedly collection 10’s of thousand of dollars in his name.

  21. FUTTHESHUCKUP says:

Yes, this Nutjob article was being passed around a Faux News Forum repeatedly for a few days as evidence that Kagan was helping President Obama “hide his birther certificate,” and thanks to some help from Joey, I was able to expose the liars. Thanks again, Joey

    More Obama derangement….

    Obama’s appointments ‘dangerous’
    Russ Jones – OneNewsNow – 8/10/2010 7:00:00 AM

From Elena Kagan’s nomination and subsequent confirmation to the Supreme Court, to the recent passage healthcare reforms, a sitting congressman says President Obama is the greatest threat to the United States Constitution — and one the nation’s worst enemies.

Rep. Trent Franks (R-Arizona) tells OneNewsNow that America’s enemy is not as much outside itself, but within its own borders. “It’s always the water on the inside of the ship that’s sinks it,” he says. “And Barack Obama, I have to tell you, is water on the inside of the ship of America.”

The Republican lawmaker further claims Obama’s appointments to the Supreme Court pose the greatest threat to the fundamental beliefs and way of life for most U.S. citizens.

“I don’t know if there’s anything happening in America that is more dangerous to the foundation of the republic than appointments by Barack Obama to the bench,” he laments.

Franks is not alone in his criticism. Former Republican Congressman Tom Tancredo (Colorado) recently said on ABC News the progressive-liberal movement poses a bigger threat to the U.S. than does al-Qaeda or Iran.

Interesting article…..I wonder if the so called grand juries will be any more successful than before….

    http://www.christiannewswire.com/news/2538114676.html

Larry Klayman, founder of Freedom Watch and Judicial Watch, has announced new legal actions in the Elena Kagan scandal. “Prior to confirmation, Freedom Watch and Declaration Alliance filed a complaint before the Supreme Court, to have Elena Kagan disbarred for falsifying a report as Associate Counsel in the Clinton White House that resulted in the inhumane killing of very late term unborn infants. Her conspiracy to defraud the Supreme Court, in order to defy the expressed will of the American people banning partial birth abortion, made our nation needlessly complicit in these heinous acts. Kagan’s actions rise to the level of criminality,” Klayman said.

Freedom Watch and Declaration Alliance, with Kagan’s reckless confirmation to the Supreme Court, will therefore also seek her impeachment. But this punishment is insufficient to right the wrongs of Justice Kagan’s criminality.

[C]itizens have the unbridled right to empanel their own grand juries and present “True Bills” of indictment to a court, which is then required to commence a criminal proceeding. Our Founding Fathers presciently thereby created a “buffer” the people may rely upon for justice, when public officials, including judges, criminally violate the law.

“Here, Justice Elena Kagan not only falsified evidence, thereby obstructing justice, but her fraud resulted in the barbaric deaths of unborn late term infants, in a heinous manner the American people had properly legislated as unlawful. She should be indicted and tried in a court of law for her crimes. As the Obama Justice Department will not seek an indictment, it is left to ordinary Americans to seek justice. And, if after an indictment is obtained, the lower courts refuse to institute a criminal proceeding, then Freedom Watch and Declaration Alliance will appeal this case all the way to the same Supreme Court where Justice Kagan now sits.

  29. sfjeff says:

Dammit we know she is guilty, now all we need is a rope and a 12 white christians to convict her!

  30. Jerry Reed says:

Hey, you should check out Snopes (http://www.snopes.com/info/notes/kagan.asp) on the Kagan/Obama lie printed by WorldNetDaily. It’s a classical look at folks who remain blind to evidence that they’re totally wrong, the
kind of people whose working translation of 1Thessalonians 5:21 is “Don’t confuse me with the facts, my mind is made up.”
Even AFTER WND backed off the lie that Kagan backstopped Obama on 9 presidential eleigiblity cases appealed to the Supreme Court, multitudes preferred to believe the original story — which WND itself admitted was false — than to face the truth. Of course, believing the original version had the added bonus of asserting that Snopes’ debunking was false, therefore (in their fantasy world) Snopes is a lying, left-wing propoganda organ.
